The major difference between the two is that one of the renders was made back when DOA was considered a priority for KT. I think it’s pretty clear at this point that they’ve moved on to bigger, better things. A 2012 vs 2019 graphics comparison image shouldn’t be looking like this.

Tecmo’s been sitting on a dormant fighting game IP for almost 25 years now. Given it was an all-girls fighter, it’s crazy how they never crossed it over with DOA, which makes me think they forgot about it =/ I wouldn’t mind if they brought this game back since it would make the waifu crowd happy...
