Pai questions and answers thread (Fundamentals)

+ 1 I have no clue how to use Pai in VF (or any character besides Shun). In DOA I'll probably main her (I'm still gravitating between Elliot, Gen Fu, Kokoro and Pai). PS: VFDC + Bad games thread = drama

What method of sidestepping is everyone using?

I use PKG + 2 or 8. I don't like taunts being on PKG. Is there a way to take them out?

    Kokoro in DOA5

Not listed as in not in command training or as not in the movelist? Either way we should make a list of these.

    Dead or Alive 5 - Known Bugs/Glitches

Yesterday in the last round of an online match my character just dropped dead at the beginning of the round. I don't know if it was a hack or a glitch :(

Pai questions and answers thread (Fundamentals)

I unlocked and tried Pai yesterday. I think she benefits from DOA's larger stages.

Hold on to ya butts they nerfing everything, "The hold discussion thread"

I know, but one of the best things about 3D fighting (or at least VF and I hope DOA moves in that direction) is never running out of options defensively (or in the offense for that matter).

Hold on to ya butts they nerfing everything, "The hold discussion thread"

Agreed. Not being able to break command throws is bad. Also, introducing circular and half circular moves instead of tracking as Dev mentioned.

    Characters for DOA beginners

+1 VF characters can be simple. Especially in VF5FS they have made an effort to make the inputs "make sense". Even Shun with all his stances is pretty simple. I read a Fuudo interview where he said he used Shun in tournaments because, even though there are higher tiered characters like Jacky...

    Brad's air grab

Ah ok. Well, I wish they had added all the moves in command training. That's what command training is for anyway.

    Brad's air grab

The air grab isn''t in Brad's command training. Does this happen with every character? If so, where can we find the complete move lists?

    Characters for DOA beginners

VF is all I've been playing for the 4 months prior to DOA5 so I'll try Pai regardless. I know. Elliot is growing on me though. The little blond fag is some tough dude. I'll try his teacher Gen Fu when I unlock him too.

Cherry Blossoms and Warriors - Kokoro's top ten moves

Thanks a lot for the info. And good idea about using H for quick recovery. I was using attack buttons for that and what I often got was: I quick recovered + threw out a random attack that got me into a bad situation. I've started story mode because its tutorials have info that I need to know...

    Characters for DOA beginners

I tried Christie's command training and easy she is not (very cool though) I'll stick to Kokoro and Elliot and try Pai and Gen Fu when I unlock them (I started story mode. Tutorials in there are good. At least I'm learning what I'm doing now)

    Characters for DOA beginners

I've tried Brad Wong, Jann Lee, Leifang...and neither of them suits me. I hadn't tried Christie as I thought she'd be complicated but I'll give her a try this afternoon (I haven't tried Helena for the same reason, I should probably try her too. As for Pai (and Gen Fu) I'll try them when I...

    Characters for DOA beginners

This has probably been beat to death previously, but as I'm new I'll ask: What characters are recommended for DOA beginners? I play Shun in VF but Brad turned out to be not for me (Shun is simple even with all his stances, Brad seems much more complicated) I'm trying Elliot and Kokoro now...

Brad Wong and Shun Di: Similar moves?

Thanks a lot for this. As you predicted, I don't have a clue how to use Brad Wong. I'm trying Kokoro and Elliot (liking Elliot more so far). Any other character that uses chinese martial arts + simple to use? (I haven't unlocked anything yet. I have tried Jann Lee and Leifang also but not for me).

Cherry Blossoms and Warriors - Kokoro's top ten moves

Thanks a lot for your input! Right now I'm a little lost when it comes to defense (have no clue when to block or hold or what to do when I'm stunned or after being knocked down, no clue when to grab punish, etc.) so I'd really like to know about: - Moves with evasive properties - Moves...

DOA's Pretty Boy - Elliot's top ten moves

Thanks a lot for your input! I love 66P+K It covers distance alright. Opponents think you cannot get them at that distance and BAM you can. I mix it up with 6F+K to get close.
