You know, it would actually be interesting to see a 3D FG without any juggling. Focus on the ground-game, throws, countering, footsies, etc. Or maybe at least just mild juggling again like earlier VFs & DoAs.
Just to clarify, I wasn't thinking of visuals when it comes to realism in this instance, I was only thinking of the fighting/gameplay. But I take your point, lol. I guess UFC games are like the extreme end of realistic fighting simulators, but there's a spectrum between that & like, MvC at the...
I think there'd be a market for realistic fantasy, like a game trying to simulate how it'd feel like to actually fight a real dragon as if they existed & you had magic powers. That's kind of how I see VF & DOA compared to other FGs, like close to how it'd be to see a ninja vs a wrestler...
VF is still the most realistic non-sports FG series though, tho yeah it's got Dural & a few other fantasy elements lol, & it has strict rules like a game not like real fighting. I guess I'm focusing more on how many random elements & guessing an FG has a a determination of realism. A game is...
Ironically, Itagaki made XBV to keep the more sexy ideas out of the main game, but the gaming public & FGC decided it brought down the main series by association anyways. I think the most damage came from the western advertising. As far as TN's devs themselves go, the time they pushed the...
They would be competing directly with Sony and MS again then, and the funny thing is that there's talk that Sony and MS want to release portables now, lol. Switch has been their most successful platform ever and when it'd normally be the end of a console's life its still selling like hotcakes...
I'm also wondering if that's the direction they're going in with the next VF, to be a realistic fighting simulator, and maybe that's why they've already come out early to say they'll still be supporting VF5 REVO as the "E-Sports side of the franchise".
Is it worthwhile for there to be a "fighting simulator" rather than a "fighting game"? I've been thinking about the aspect of random elements & guessing in fighting games, and considering that while they make for poor elements in strict games/competition, they could be realistic in real fights...
Yeah the grain of salt here is that this is basically a concept, we don't know how much of this will be in the final game and I hope releasing this clip doesn't come back to haunt them if things don't turn out as good or better than this. But personally, I just like to see what their ambition is...

So hyped for this game right now!!
It already wins at being the best looking 3D fighting game ever.
And as a bonus its like getting a glimpse at what a potential DOA7 would look like.
That's a depressing thread... but then it is Resetera so not surprising. Even if past DOA devs came right out and confirmed it did nothing and that it effecting jiggle was just a conclusion reached by gamers, people would still perpetuate the myth that it's a jiggle slider and that this is...
if I had massive space I'd just paste it into my cmd with yt-dlp and sit back and wait, lol (I never tried a playlist THAT huge before tho, not sure if it'd even work...)
yeah weird, they don't have a search bar.... but what about this playlist they made for DOA?

I can't guess what the reason is... why not just stop uploading and keep the videos up as an archive? It's not like they gotta pay for servers or anything.
If i had the time and hard drive space I'd download whatever I could...
It would probably be new models made from scratch but based on DOA5/6 looks, like what they're did with the VV girls they put into Prism. I doubt they'd go way further into realism over style, and I hope they wouldn't.
