There were a lot of balance problems like that in DOA4. Bayman was even punishable on hit after some attacks/strings. DOA4 was just a really dumb game overall.

Well, I didn't know what characters you were referring to. I'm not sure why it's whiffing. The dpad on the standard 360 controllers is shit. You could get one of the ones with the silver transforming dpad, or you can probably put the dpad of an original Xbox controller S in the 360 controller.

Trying to unlock Bankotsubo in that game was such a pain because you had to fight her numerous times with every other character.
