I'm reading rumors that Sony's planning on a new subscription service similar to Xbox game pass with games from ps1 to even psp. It's unlikely but I'm hoping this means we could get the ps1 doa1 and doa2 hardcore on ps4 & 5...
You WANTED a payoff to that overused plot?
Granted, they traded one clichéd plot with another for Infinite but at least they're trying to get as far away as possible from 5's trainwreck story.
While I don't doubt the possibility that TN would consider crossplay for future DOA games, that can only happen if the platforms the games release on allow it. I'm sure Micro$oft are fine with that, but Sony has been very unwilling to let it happen.
The games do tend to get repetitive after a while. Peach Beach splash has it worse since everyone plays the same. At least Estival versus has plenty of characters to choose from.
Halo infinite's story is trying REALLY HARD to undo the events of 5. It reminds me of how The Rise of Skywalker was clearly trying to retcon The Last Jedi.
Now I'm also seriously considering getting DOA6 core fighters for the series S and just buying Tina and Rachel and their DLC's and I'll have no reason to use my PS4
Today, I only bothered to use my PS4 for a quick playthru of DOA6 (the first time I used the PS4 since last week) then just spent the rest of my afternoon playing Halo infinite. I doubt I'll spend much time with this game once I finish but with 100+ games to choose from, I'm pretty much set for...
When I got a PS4, I used my Xbone and 360 less and less util I only bothered to use them only once a week for the sake of using them. With my series S, the BC DOA games and game pass, the same looks like will happen to my PS4...
Estival versus is probably better simply because it has way more characters to play; not counting the DLCs, you get 23 characters from the start while renewal only has 12.
Got around to subscribing to game pass and queued up some games and the file sizes are annoyingly large. I'll barely fit 3 modern games. I'll probably just keep the doa series and the master chief collection but uninstall any other game I get from game pass as soon as i finish...
It took a lot longer than I expected but I managed to complete collection mode in DOA2U and unlock all costumes in <1 day. I was surprised I unlocked the medal on first try but I was using Tina and use her in survival very often so it wasnt that hard to get 100 wins with her.
I just realized Tina's birthday is this coming Monday, between my new xbox, my ps4, vita, and 3ds; I'm going to play every DOA game I have using only her that day. That's 8 games (!)
Got a new series s and finished downloading doa 1 to 5. I'm playing on a 8 year old tv and even then I can see a lot of improvements in visual quality. The quick resume and nearly instant loading times already makes me feel like the purchase was worth it.
My thoughts on the games in numbered...
Finished installing Last round but downloading all the DLCs is taking even longer
Once those are done, I can finally buy the other games (except 6, not buying that again since I'm all set on my PS4)
I got it, I got a series S to play the DOA games in. Never expected to get a new Xbox before a PS5 but having the DOA games in one console plus game pass might just be worth it...
