Most actually leave you at minus frames (Most leave you at -4 to -7), it's just everyone bar the grapplers don't have 4 frame throws to punish. In DOA 4 a lot of stuff was much more unsafe, but it led to attacking from a disadvantage.

Are you on PSN or XBL? If you're on XBL, go into your storage, delete the download off your hard drive, then go to account management, and download history, and you can re-download it. ;)
I think Skyrim has it beat, though even there, I was the same way; I wasn't even close to mad about it. This, IMO, is the best DOA to date; I think DOA 3 has finally been knocked from its perch, it's that good. :)
The bunch of online matches I've played this week have been really smooth. There's been a few times where I've ran into someone with a shit connection and it's lagged a bit, but 95% of the time it's been really good. At PowerPlay, I've had no lag, but that's because he's on T1. At my sister's...
