Both would be cool, but if it's one or the other, it is as I said. Just keep in mind that talk is cheap, except when it distracts from what's important (making a solid game). But when a developer can put out a game that does all the smacktalk for them, anything else is just icing on the cake.

At the end of the day, the community wants a solid game. And having open lines of communication between developer and community helps the possibility of getting a solid game more than a developer engaging in random bits of (admittedly, entertaining) smacktalk against competing developers.

You're simply overthinking it. When people say "Paid" DLC, they are referring to DLC you have to pay for in order to download. It would be "Free" DLC if you didn't have to pay additional costs to download (like the DOA5 demo with the CE of NG3). EDIT: Mr. Wah beat me by 7 mins. lol

Hayashi wasn't against paid DLC. It was specifically locked DLC on-the-disc that he spoke against.
