True, but I was noticing 360 was the system of choice for tournaments as far east as Reno, Nevada and as far south as Sacramento, but then again, those are the limits I have for traveling to tournaments in terms of distance.

I know the few local tournaments I've been to for SFIV in this area have been 360, same with BlazBlue.

I think part of that has to do with cost, more than anything. If I wasn't as into DOA as I am now, I probably wouldn't even be thinking of spending money to go to San Mateo like I am right now.

Nice. I plan on doing a few as part of a series as well, but I don't know for sure how everything's going to work just yet. I'm thinking of doing something like points depending on how you finish, with a finals tournament for the top 4, 8 or 16 (depending on how many enter each time) in points.

I'd expect the majority of tournaments to be 360, with a select few being PS3, but you never know. When (and if) Allen does his online tournaments again, I could easily assume he'd be using the PS3 version, considering it has free internet (and thus more players to enter). *shrugs*

Jeebus, that's crazy. I'd assume most of those are on the east coast (or in the midwest), which prices me out of those. I'm seriously lucky IGN decided to partner with Hot Import Nights to do tournaments at their shows, otherwise I wouldn't be able to go to any until next year. :(

So it's going to cost me around $95 to go to the San Mateo IPL tournament. I seriously wish I had a car, for times like this... >_<;

The majority of DOA majors are on the east coast or in the midwest. This is the first "big" tournament next to EVO, and I sadly don't see DOA 5 being added to EVO next year. There's a chance, obviously, but for whatever reason, I don't see it happening, unless the tournaments prior to EVO have...

Half hour by car, according to Google maps. If you're taking Cal Train it'll be longer. San Francisco's his best bet, though it's probably going to be more expensive. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the fact that I don't have a car, so it'll be Greyhound for me, leaving from...

Bah, that sucks a bit. I'd have thought that if you were in trip stun, on your hands and knees (or tip toes, in the case of the animation), you wouldn't be able to counter anything next to just slow escaping.

I thought that unless you were face-up with your opponent (excluding Critical Burst stun), you couldn't counter out of anything. At least, that's what was being said at E3.

I thought he was talking about the first hit of the attack, which unless you're attacking or moving forward (or backwards, in some cases), lands as a normal hit.

No, it's only made a critical stun if the opponent attacks, IIRC. Otherwise it lands as a normal hit with no stun to it.
