News Emperor Cow Meets Tomonobu Itagaki!

I keep forgetting that you guys live in the Casual States of America where it hasn't quite caught on yet. But in the rest of the world, especially here in the east, Esports does matter to the average customer and games targeted towards Esports tend to make more money in the long run than the...

Wild unedited screenshots of Last Round appeared!

Let's face it, the crowd in stages like those is one of the least important things when it comes to a fighting game, especially since you never really go near them. For stuff like people and animals in stages like Home and the circus stage, you see that they're fully rendered in 3D because they...

News Emperor Cow Meets Tomonobu Itagaki!

I fail to see how Esports (and therefore high level play) isn't important, not with the amount of money that I know is being poured into it as well as the amount of money being made.

Probably no new DLC for PS3/Xbox360 users anymore...

For Ultra, the $15 gets you all 5. As for last round, if you already bought the existing DLC characters (Marie, Phase-4 and Nyotengu), all you'll need to do is buy the other two (Raidou and Honoka) since the last-gen versions get upgraded to Last Round for free.

Probably no new DLC for PS3/Xbox360 users anymore...

Paying $14.99 for the whole update is cheaper than paying $5.99 per characters which comes down to $23.96 for 4 characters (AE) or $29.95 for 5 (Ultra). And don't even start with the whole "people only paying for select characters" since that defeats the point of everyone having an even playing...

Probably no new DLC for PS3/Xbox360 users anymore...

The major patches, such as AE2012, Ultra 1.03 and Ultra 1.04 were free patches. AE and Ultra are expansion packs, similar to what Brood War was for OG Starcraft.. The lack of any ability to download the characters separately is actually something that the FGC appreciates since it means that...

News Emperor Cow Meets Tomonobu Itagaki!

The point is that you can review the mechanics of previous games and see why things get used and abused, yet at the same time, you can also see which mechanics control those things. Just watch this video where Mike Z discusses how certain mechanics kept Marvel vs. Capcom 2 from totally being...

News Emperor Cow Meets Tomonobu Itagaki!

You have to consider though that with the move towards Esports (and with TN sponsoring things such as last years Road to the Fall Classic, they do want to move this into Esports territory), high level play is becoming very important. Not that it wasn't important to begin with, what with the...

Probably no new DLC for PS3/Xbox360 users anymore...

Ultra Street Fighter IV is only $39 for the standalone version. The DLC upgrade for people who've already bought Super Street Fighter IV or Arcade Edition is only $15. https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/#!/en-us/ultra-street-fighter-iv/cid=UP0102-BLUS30453_00-SSF400DLC000USF4...

RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

Interesting. At first I was worried that Ryu being able to stack hits on his fireball every time he activated his stance would be too good. But seeing Chun able to answer like that with multiple fireballs when her stance is active has made me change my mind.

News Emperor Cow Meets Tomonobu Itagaki!

Except it totally is relevant since knowing what the players do, what they abuse and what factors/mechanics keep the game from being totally busted helps in making the game better. This makes it so that the game has less chances of totally collapsing as it gets played at higher levels (and...

Probably no new DLC for PS3/Xbox360 users anymore...

The standalone releases are there so that people who didn't buy the original game can get the updated version without having to buy the older game. The new title I assume also helps with the marketing since it looks like a new title and gets people excited. Except that they did do patches and...

News Emperor Cow Meets Tomonobu Itagaki!

The problem is that Itagaki approached his design from a very, very scrub-like perspective. He basically looked at things he, for all intents and purposes, found "cheap", and decided to neuter those with little thought to how these changes would affect the game at high level play.

Will we be able to mod things beyond costumes with PC version?

Silly question. It's on PC, of course it can be modded. The question is more how much work it'll take to do.

Probably no new DLC for PS3/Xbox360 users anymore...

Ultra was DLC. Anyone who already had Super SFIV could simply pay $14 for the upgrade. The $40 retail release was simply for those who hadn't bought either Super or AE previously.

Probably no new DLC for PS3/Xbox360 users anymore...

I don't see the problem here considering that we asked for those updates to SFIV. Ultra wouldn't have happened if we didn't ask for gameplay and balance changes and more characters.

I'm just basing it from what I've been hearing from @Mr. Wah and others.

Yeah, but that's an exception to the rule. Intel HD GPUs aren't really meant for gaming after all.

    DOA5LR PC-version information collection

I hate to say this, but anyone on a laptop that only uses Intel HD graphics shouldn't really expect to be able to play this game... or any modern game for that matter.
