Namco's already done it for a 3D game, so we do know that it is possible. It's just a matter of having a larger number of things to keep track of and store in memory.

Nah, NRS is actually worse in that all their DLC characters are planned from the start (similar to SFxT).
Instead of just adding them in the game, they purposely hold back so that they can nickel and dime folks.

Fun fact, most people I know who are "in the know" within the FGC (both long time veterans and those in the so-called "illuminati) actually do approve of Capcom's model (more-so their current one where it's cheaper to get on board with the updates).

I don't know why this is such a big issue for this community.
When this kind of console exclusive content pops up in say, a Capcom game, we just have a chuckle and the automatically ban it. If anyone complains, it's mostly just new people who have no idea.
Just wanted to point out, that with the momentum that DOA5U has had recently in the competitive side of things, it makes no sense whatsoever to kill that momentum by announcing DOA6.
With all the new content added to the game even before Last Round was announced, 5U had at least 1 or 2 years...
