    This is pretty wild... I've never even seen anyone mention this before... https://www.ign.com/articles/1997/08/07/tecmos-fighter-dead-or-alive-on-n64 And the port was gonna be worked on by some good devs (Iguana, under Acclaim at the time, which distributed DOA1 Arcade in at least UK afaik)...

    What I really miss is how everything felt new and fresh with innocent eyes. I was excited all the time for whatever was next. The level of obsessive hype I had for some things back then just doesn't happen anymore. As long as I don't remember school, it was amazing.

    The convo just went in this direction because Onryoki pointed out that it's refreshing to play the older games and not see them there, which is true. DOA4 is perfect enough for me in terms or roster and most things, I just wish TN had made it as competitively good as DOA3 was at least. Yeah...
