Dude, no, some D-pads are simply made cheap and terrible with no "strengths" in any way (see the standard Xbox 360 controller one as a blatant example). "Cheap and terrible" has been my experience with all the D-pad gamepads I tried except for one, thus my question.

Does it need to be a joypad or it can be anything? If anything goes, check out the hitbox controller (I own one). It may be hard to get used to the up button and the high buttons sensibility at first, but damn it's precise, and it's the only controller created specifically for fighting games.
