DOA 5 getting into EVO partly depends on the community. Show Wiz, the Cannon's, Seth, etc. that there's a big and active enough community playing the game at tournaments and they'll consider it.
Yep.
When non-DOA FGC people read "stun" they automatically think "hitstun" (which is basically what happens when you're hit in any fighter) and not the DOA concept of it.
It's Marvel tradition, especially when you consider that a good number of players are from the ghetto and the series has a history of high stakes money matches (highest recorded amount was about $40,000).
There are a bunch of guys willing to give it a chance, but you're right, until the whole "holds out of stun" issue is resolved, DOA will always been seen in a negative light, not just in SRK but in other competitive FG sites as well.
That was only in the 90s. Super SF4 and UMvC3 were released at lower than full price and AE was a $14 download for those who bought Super. Had the earhquake not happened, Ultimate would have been a $14 DLC expansion as well with 6 characters with the rest released earlier as DLC.
Wait, I thought you could only hold out of Critical State? Last I checked, it was only 4 that had almost every move put you in it.
And in any case, the argument here is to mirror what was done in Marvel 3 and limit the number of moves that put your opponent in Critical State so that you can...
Story mode is actually an interesting way to help newer players learn the game. Make it so that running through story mode teaches them the ins and outs of the system.
