Holds Out Of Stun VS Marvel 3 Counter Exchange

The goal then would be to lower that number, maybe even reverse it.

    The Fight Stick Thread

If you want the feel of an American stick then by all means get an American stick. Trying to replicate the feel of an American stick with a Japanese one almost always never works. Also, by American I mean European. The superior IL sticks are actually from Europe.

Tecmo Koei aiming to sell a million copies of DoA 5 in Sept., paid DLC confirmed

Best unlock system ever from any FG is that from Skullgirls, because you didn't have to unlock anyone for versus (unlocks were only for singleplayr).

Tecmo Koei aiming to sell a million copies of DoA 5 in Sept., paid DLC confirmed

Just as long as it's not on disc. And fuck unlocking characters, if you've ever had to do all sorts of shit to unlock characters for a tournament (lol at flicking the coin switch in an MvC2 cab for 3 hours) you'd understand. P.S. Over saturated? Outside of Capcom actually releasing new FGs...

Holds Out Of Stun VS Marvel 3 Counter Exchange

The point was pointing out their similarities in an effort to demonstrate how TN could posdibly fix holds out of stun. Now if I remember correctly, you can only hold out of critical stun, not hitstun in general (unless you're saying that the greater FGC's "misconception" about the series, being...

Holds Out Of Stun VS Marvel 3 Counter Exchange

That's mostly DOA 4 though, where just about every move put you in Critical State. I believe that it's been mentioned that in 5, fewer moves do this.

Holds Out Of Stun VS Marvel 3 Counter Exchange

I was thinking about whether DOA's hold system had a analogue in 2D games when the thought struck me - holds out of stun are somewhat analogous to Counter Exchanges in Marvel 3. Okay, you guys are probably thinking "that SRK gus has been smoking up again" but it actually makes sense. Holds out...

Real Asian arcades, especially the ones in Japan where all the best players play, use square gates. Once you stop riding the gate, you'll realize that it's better for execution and gives a larger engage area for the diagonals.

Do you want a tournament scene?

Makes me with that the game were properly emulated on PC.

Do you want a tournament scene?

This. To borrow from Namco's community manager FilthieRich once said, players like being rewarded for good offense (spacing, footsies, everything that lets you get in) with more offense. Look at all the top tournament games. All of them are games that allow for some really good offense...

SRK: Community Matters – Or Why A Game Is Legitimate Only If There Are People Playing It

Being a "titty fighter" shouldn't stop a game from being considered competitive. Look at Skullgirls, the game has been called out for it's supposedly "oversexualized" character designs but it's still be adopted by the tournament community

Hey Team Ninja! Dead Or Alive 5 Costumes WANTED!!

What will probably happen is that we'll lose the more ridiculous ones and see some more sensible changes (like how Christie is wearing a bra in her biker suit). Off course, from a certain point of view, that could actually be sexier.

Do you want a tournament scene?

Same thing happens with every game. But, the thing is, if a game makes it in the tournament circuit and is a regular in FGC held tournaments, then you'll have people playing the game no matter what the issues are. No, that comes from word of mouth and actually getting of our asses to help...

    The Fight Stick Thread

There's also the price. For that amount of money, I'd rather get a Qanba or an OMNI. Both are dual-console, and the OMNI also happens to be made from metal. http://etokki.com/Omni-Sanwa-Edition?filter_name=Omni It also has a K-stick version and I believe that those might actually work better...

    The Fight Stick Thread

I have my doubts on the Fighting Edge. While they're supposedly as good as Sanwa, the new Hori parts are as of yet untested in real play. Also, the touch screen seems just like another feature that's bound to fail (and is going to be a bitch to mod around). EDIT: Apparently, the case is pretty...

Do you want a tournament scene?

Wah already shared this somewhere else, but I'm pretty sure it applies here. http://shoryuken.com/2011/12/04/community-matters-or-why-a-game-is-legitimate-only-if-there-are-people-playing-it/ Off course we want a tournament community. Tournament play lends a game a good deal of legitimacy...

Do you want a tournament scene?

Getting holds out of stuns fixed means that the community can get help from the rest of the FGC. As I believe Rikuto has mentioned more than once, doing so is an important key to growing this community (and it's something the SC community is already doing).

Do you want a tournament scene?

Not from what I recall. V-ism infinites were being used almost from the start, and it was a tournament regular up until CvS2 took its place and A-Groove shenanigans ("ShoShoSho", "Painting the Fences") took over. Heck, Japan played it even longer. Maybe, but it all depends on how it plays...

Do you want a tournament scene?

Actually, A3 got played longer at tournaments than A2, mostly because Japan didn't like A2 but loved A3. And in any case, A2 also had Valle-CCs which required even less execution.
