Aside from JF Knee, I can play Akira for the most part fine on a pad. I can pull off this move at least 75% of the time offline. It's online that's the issue. You just can't bring out the full potential of this character with this game's netcode.

Might have to take a break from... or even Drop Akira if this netcode isn't improved. Tired of getting cheaped/mashed out of wins in lag.

Because she has a ground grab pseudo infinite she wasn't suppose to have with a 1 frame window to tech and you can basically cheap out your opponent by doing it over and over again until they die. If this was Marvel, I would deal with it, but it's not. Going by that logic we might as well keep...

That's always the first step, I hope they keep that way of thinking. There may be hope for the game's online yet.

Does anyone else have doubts about the coming patch really fixing the netcode? I don't want to be pessimistic but I'm honestly having trouble getting my hopes up. The lobby glitch, language problem, exorcist heads even all seem like easy fixes but to actually improve the netcode, to the point...

My favorite DOA character isn't in 5, so I went with my favorite VF character (Akira) and as it stands he is my main and my best character. He's head and shoulders above my Hayate, Hitomi or Mila.

It does look pretty silly now that I look at it a 2nd time. I feel silly. I doubted it was real but it looked ridiculous all the same.

Surprised you still play DOA then. It's been that way since 4. Even 3 had guessing in one form or another. It will never be completely removed as long as the hold system exists.

That would be Akira's :3::P+K: I believe. How many characters have lows that actually put you in a stun state like that though? Only Kokoro and Akira come to mind as I've seen both of them in action.

I read on twitter that they were working on a patch for the netcode actually, maybe around the same time as the next costume pack. Can anyone confirm this? If the netcode was improved we would be looking at a stellar game.

Because being able to hi counter throw every single hold with a high damaging command throw would be more overpowered than you're supposedly saying low holding is? The point of holding would be moot and strings would be pointless as it's easy to stand throw a hold on reaction and a stun...
