It's likely that the characters could be unlockable just through the story mode like tradition of the fighting games. The only certain thing is that to unlock Alpha152 you must collect all the titles from the "side missions" of the story mode, so at least a character need to play it.

The DLC outfits of Dinasty Warriors seems really nice IMO. Anyway Hayashi talked also about the possibility of stages and music DLC, but we will see.

In Doa Dimensions its' possibile select the level where start the fight in the multi level stages. This innovation of the series probably will be included also in Doa5, so the reason for the name also of the single "floors".

In the officail site of Doa5 (Japanese version) they say that both the bunny swimsuit and the CE swimsuits are being sold separately in the future like DLC.

Well I think that for people used to play with VF, Akira, Sarah (and eventually Pai) appear less new than Nicole/Spartan 458 - also if the presence of the holds make surely very different the way to play with them Not having ever played with VF (if not with the demo of VF5:FS) in my case...

I think me too that these 24 characters will be the final roster for the game. But I would love to play in DOA5 with the rest of the cast from Doa Dimensions...

I didn't know the "atmoshphere" at the time of Doa3, but personally I never seen another time when DOA was taken more seriously than now.
