more than half, by my count. lol
If I started off in a situation where someone whiffed a hold, I'd pick Alpha every time. But that doesn't happen so it's irrelevant. And also, even in your hypothetical, why you would pick Eliot still baffles me. I'd pick a ton of characters before Eliot...
You said he was "solid" without an immediate qualifier at the time of my initial response. That would imply that he is, in a general sense, solid.
Under that condition everyone is solid. Again, it would be like me saying: "he's solid if the player wins." A constant can't be the foundation of a...
You said "he's solid" as in "he's a solid option to select in a fight." And I feel that due to the numerous amount of obstacles in his path, he is not a "solid" choice, simply because his stun game is kinda decent.
I'm detail oriented and possibly OCD.
But at least some characters do specific things better. For example, Ayane spaces better than Gen. Leifang holds and OHs better than Genfu, etc.
Eliot essentially does nothing better.
That's like saying "He's solid if, and only if, you win." If you're getting stuns you can do "ok" with anyone...
He should be a midweight. Give him a 12 frame mid and a couple unshakable frames of advantage off of his 7P and he'd be doing fine.
Gen. Unless you mean on NH in which case the importance of the different hit levels varies greatly.
1) "He's bad ... [and] ... he's solid" is an oxymoron.
2) "I...
What niche is that? Every niche he has someone else has but better. And more.
Everyone has something, but that doesn't mean it's compensating for numerous other shortcomings.
Which isn't anything exclusive to him. Other people are doing this kind of thing and they're doing it better.
Read what I said again. That was referring to "if I wait until he's done," ie: I let him play out his stun game and launch/ground me. Obviously it's more complex than that, but what I'm saying is that he doesn't have a perpetual vortex comparable to Helena and the like with incredible oki.
Which is why I'm confused as to why you think he's decent.
I Izuna hold him. Or I wait until he's done, receive less damage than I would from other characters who are way harder to predict and have a way easier time putting you in stun, exit the situation without having to worry about a...
He has expert holds? 11 frame mid? Insane crushes? Super-footsies? Tons of quick lows that open you up on NH? He's a reasonable weight class?
Where is this Eliot? He sounds awesome.
You're gonna have a trip when you finish the game if you decide to go back and read the post I made commenting on the different bosses. It seems like we're usually on the same page with 'em, haha.
