Actually I think Kasumi and Ayane are some of the least possible love interests for Ryu. In Itagaki's games there is Momiji and Irene who both have good chances with him, while Ayane was definitely in love with Hayate judging by her song in 4's ending (and thankfully this got retconned hard)...
