The centipede is just poorly designed.... They really want you to fight it in a very specific, almost legend of zelda type way and it feels super out of place and dysfunctional on a hitbox and animation level when you try to confront it using similar logic to any other fight.- Rikuto

I believe you are going to find that Tina suffers from a severe lack of range and while this can be compensated for, it is difficult for most players to do in the same way most players have trouble making up for the lack of range with Bayman.
