All character attribute charts (so far)

TN hasn't gone into depth as to what Strike, Hold or Throw actually represent.
I'm pretty curious to know what those attributes entail as well.

So what would striking represent, if not the effectiveness of those strikes?

Well, Power could just mean how easily the character racks up damage. That doesn't necessarily have to mean how much damage per hit they do. Striking? Wild guess - ability to crush, ability to guard break/crush, access to frame advantage on block, access to useful launchers and relaunchers, access to situational attacks like down attacks and so forth.

The latter two could probably go under 'Moves' but it makes more sense to me for that to mean purely mixup capability.

Ability to guard break would probably fall more under power, wouldn't it? ie the strength behind the attack is what causes the guard to break. General frame advantage would probably be more under speed, as its the feeling of being under a fast, relentless assault that never stops.

Anyway, I don't find it a particularly accurate system but it's not all too relevant.

The stuff that I posted about what the stats do was taken directly from Team Ninja's Tweets on the matter.
Like I said, the only attributes with questionable representation are Strike, Hold and Throw.

Derp! Yeah, I missed your post on that one. Sorry about that.

Regarding strike, it's tough to say without playing the E3 build but maybe strike refers to something like mixup potential... Unbreakable grabs or OH's = higher throw; parries or advanced counters = higher hold. Maybe... Power and speed are obvious. Still not sure about moves, but no one has less than a 3 rating yet. Wish I saw Shinbori's comment.

Actually, "Moves" was mix-up potential. For all we know, "Strikes" could be the amount of moves a character has. "Throws", being the amount of damage and advantage from them you get. "Holds", being the amount of damage and advantage you get from them. "Power" could be the amount of damage you're able to put out with a small/high amount of moves. This makes perfect sense if you consider Strikes as the amount of moves your character has.

Im guessing the more power you have combined with striking makes a character have a lot of damage between blows.

The strikes attribute seems off; 8 out of the 12 characters shown have 5 stars in it, which doesn't make much sense from a statistical standpoint. Let's look at the other stats:
There are 2 characters that have 5 stars in Throw.
There are 3 characters that have 5 stars in Hold.
There are no characters that have 5 star in Power.
There are 3 characters that have 5 stars in Speed.
There are 3 characters that have 5 stars in Moves.
Of course there are other characters not yet shown, and I'm sure they will have characters that are just average in every way; although from the looks of it, everyone has at least one 5 star in something. It just seems to me that Strike points are too generously given out - 52 of them, actually. Throw has 34, Hold has 38, Power has 32, Speed has 42, and Moves has 46. Unless the majority of the characters not yet shown are bad in Strike, they should probably increase the requirements for getting points in Strike. Not like this actually matters, though. :/

this may just be a silly representation of stats that are already set it the series... im hoping to god that it is. we know that certain characters are weak in their offence (hey there helena, im looking at you babe) but make up for it with sheer finesse. others go for a more straightforward "beat-the-shit-outta-you" approach (Ein/Lee gets this award) so hopefully these stats just try to reflect those attributes.

really? the stats are just there to give people who know nothing of the game a rough estimate of how that character is. It's not going to be very accurate, we can't even talk tiers right now(aside from a few people) because of the lack of info.

These stats may not even factor in things like combo potential or mix ups. "moves" can just mean the amount of stances or general number of moves the character has at his/her disposal."Power" can just be raw damage from normals or strings, not actual combo damage...same with "throws" either by the sheer number of them(including CT) or overall damage output of throws that make up the stat(though I think range and frames should be a factor...but thats me overthinking this). "Holds" can be rated by the damage or the number of OH, but again...this is just a guess.

I am pretty sure that they dont even factor in Environmental mastery..ie how easy it is to send someone into a wall, danger zone, cliff fall. This is a major factor in the game.

yup, i dont think there is a good way to represent "stats" for doa characters since the amount of stuff you would need to include to make it comprehensive is just too much
