Color Edit mode / Palette Swap selection

This is the best idea someone had for at least a week. Being able to change even the littlest of things by yourself is awesome. Having to rely on extra slots just for different rendered colours is a method that should have honestly died with the previous generation of consoles. And to add to your great idea i will also suggest this --->

I mean, seriously... How AWESOME IS THAT?!
If anyone has ever played a Trackmania game, those games use a method for entirely custom player made "skins" for your car. It might be neat if that would be implemented into a game like this. You can paint and write pretty much anything, though it's easy to see that being abused far more than simple color issues with bikinis. We'd pretty much have custom skins allowing for stuff like those Jann Lee and Kasumi costumes. Again, it's a far cry - and probably the best working and closest example to Trackmania's skin feature is Soul Calibur 5's texture feature. Maybe one day DOA will join the big leagues...

I would love to have different colors for outfits that weren't different outfit slots.
I really don't feel that you can call a color swap a different outfit, it feels really cheap.
However, having like four or five colors for one outfit would be awesome.

My initial idea I proposed was to have 4 color swaps. I wrote up a guide of about 10 characters, each with 10 costumes (c9 = beach attire, c10 = something entirely brand new and maybe rare) with 4 distinct and visually appealing palette swaps, making room for a lot of older DOA costumes to return. After writing that much however, I got to thinking about Lei Fang's chinese dress which has 5 colors. Red, Blue, Green, Black and White. It wouldn't be hard to add in a fifth color swap option for every character, but unfortunately I'd already fixed-up a lot of examples only using the 4 color swap method. Alongside my initial proposal, I also just left the idea open for a full-blown color-edit mode, so in the very least some proper idea should get across. I emailed this idea in, and I've also tweeted it a few times and started this thread just to see how much the community would enjoy an idea like this.

Where is that guide? I want to read it!
Oh and get rid of either the black/green color for Lei Fang's dress, blue/white/red are the best!

I'd be all for it, the idea is great and would be the first step to something DOA should have in these days and times: true character customization.

Bayman's C1 palette swap. This one was hard to color adjust because of how gray and bland the colors are for it. The colors I chose are suppose to be a bit darker (forest green, crimson) but the details just got washed away.

Also, what's with bayman having a Tan military outfit with a helmet in a story mode cutscene, yet not having that as an actual costume?
