Core Fighters free character trial/rotation?

Has Team Ninja clarified how free character rotation will work in Core Fighters?

• Team Ninja is planning promotions where you can unlock a specific character for free for a few days, so people can try them out, but after that time you'll have to buy them if you want to keep using that fighter.

Instead of making Kasumi,Ryu,Ayane, and Hayate permanently free..maybe it would have been a better idea for free characters to change every week like in League of Legends.

This doesn't apply to me anyway since I'll be buying the full game but I think weekly character rotation would be great for anybody new to DOA.

What do you guys think?

IMO, it's better having a few core characters permanently free. This way people can continue playing with them as their mains and not just drop the game when they go out of rotation.

whatever they decide to do it will be better than Tekken Revolution's system, play hours upon hours and HOPE you unlock the character you want. if i spend 4$ on TR i get some more tokens to play if i pay 4$ on CF i get to pick who exactly i want.

I see your point..but for the people who want to try other characters before they buy them..can they really get the feel of a character just by watching or fighting them?

He probably would have been better off just staying as Ein. He stood out more before he turned into a ninja.

unfortunately i cant really say there's anything special about him. he just seems so mechanical and bland but then again so does Ryu.

Ryu has the freedom to be bland because of his own games, all the female ninjas are the heroines and Momiji was in NG so they're all covered as well. Hayate on the other hand is just kinda... there. He needs to either show up in a NG game or just become a more interesting character.

Hitomi should just find a really big rock and crack him in the back of his head so he loses his memory and goes back to being Ein.

Prepare for bias:

Hayate has always seemed to me like a very newbie-friendly character. Save the Raijin, his inputs are very straight-forward. He has good balance of speed, power, mix-up, range etc. and does fairly well at introducing someone to the mechanics of the series, much like Ein but with a few more tricks and gimmicks up his sleeve that noobs love.

Hayabusa has seemed like one of the most specialized characters in DOA5. While he has great power, his best tools require perfect reads of the opponent (such as expert holds). He has shittastic mix-up strings and most of his strikes suck ass unless landed on a CH or after stun. Unfortunately noobs still love him because of teleport spams. But to me, Hayabusa has always seemed like one of the least "bland" and "generic" characters, with strange but elaborate moves with odd functions (many of which mirror his NG techniques). He's not a character I would recommend first to new players.

in comparison his fighting style is interesting with his teleport/dash abilities. i actually preffer him to Ryu's which seems heavily based of Kage's from VF and just looks weird.

Ryu's got certain moves that were taken from Kage. Unfortunately most characters in DOA do (that or they stole moves from other DOA characters, such as Hayate). His izuna drop is way cooler, though, and a lot of the moves he takes from NG feel quite special to him (to me).
