OMG SO BEAUTIFUL! So wish I had your art skills. I have an entire story with tons of characters...but I just can't draw them for crap lol.

How do you paint those clouds? Or have the PATIENCE to paint every blade of grass? How do you paint stone like that?!

I look closely at real clouds and look also closely at clouds of other artists and I take some things from here and something from there until I have my own way/style of painting clouds.

Other clouds I painted:

I'm a perfectionist and I have fun tinkering hours on details until I get them right. XD That costs me much time of my life though. We have for example 4:53 am here in Europe and I didn't even go to sleep yet, just working on stuff.
By the way, I just saw, that I have to work on the stone beak of that illustration a little more. It feels too flat and not rounded enough in the area of the dangling wooden clogs.

I'm trying really hard to do my project as a comic, but I just can't draw whats in my head yet lol.

(Just slapped down base colors on the WIP, hadn't started any details yet. I SO REGRET THE PROLOGUE TAKING PLACE IN A SWAMP OMG)

Just kinda winging it, trying to teach myself a set style. I do use references, but Im not good enough to translate that with art yet lol.

If you are still not happy with the pages/scenes, then you should just sketch them like in the last page, not fully color and shade them... You get more done and It's less frustrating, if you decide to change things after all.
I think, you are actually quite good in imagining how scenes should play out on each page and each panel. You are a good camera man. But I think, you spend too much time/too many panels with unnecessary stuff. It's an action oriented story, right? Like this it seems a little tedious to read (sorry! >__<). The story, that you told in five pages, could have probably been told in three. Also the page layout feels a little stiff and undynamic.
Though I generally don't like the way western comics are told. I prefer manga, which are very differently told. So, I might not be the best adviser. And last but not least...I didn't do manga for some time now and was never a pro to begin with. XD

Thanks for the tips and compliments. First time ever doing comic panels. I know I'm much better at cinematography than pacing lol. (When I was kid, I used to do camera angles with my action figures. play on the glass table and climb under the table to get a view of the AF's on top as they fight lol, I did flyby camera angles by running past my figures, etc, etc).

The pacing...yeah I noticed, sorry. Gonna try to fix that with future pages. (The WIP is the last page of the prologue)

I'm not really sure how I could have condensed it, though. Because I'm also thinking in terms of "leave the last panel as a slight cliffhanger since its a webcomic and only one page will be up at a time", but I do need to have more happening per page, yeah.

I am going for Manga style motions and movements, I'm just not good at it yet lol.

lol good to know where my strengths are I suppose. Better at animating, cinematography, special effects, etc, than actual art.
Yeah you're all set, just need to practice some fundamentals.
Not sure exactly what my strengths are just yet.

If that's the case, you can be a storyboard artist still. Storyboard artist don't necessarily need to be able to draw badass, unless your employer want you to be, of course

I'll keep that in mind for job hunting but in the meantime I still wanna actually use these characters and stories I've come up with. Bad art ahoy!
