Her 1p+k (I think that's what it was) which is her spin punch string also stuns but like I said it's not a move you try to counter poke with in a pressuring situation.

It crushes both high and mid and it has a follow up. You have no reason not to use it when being pressured.

It definitely doesn't crush mids. It seems to have like some kind of weird properties and will crush SOME mids but can't be relied on in that type of instance. It def crushes high attacks though.

Also her 8pp is also a 2 in 1. I also found some of the moves are attack punishable though you can still counter the second hit. An example is someone doing a move that is like -17 Hitomi can 6k for free and since it is a critical it can actually be completely combo'd. The only thing is the SECOND hit can be countered but it isn't something done on reaction so it can also be baited and the counter damage won't even matter for the combo that you would have been hit with or baited with.

*edit*
The sidestep in the game is actually interesting. It's not like VF's (as I'm sure it was stated before) or any other sidestep in any game. You kinda have to commit to it with both attacks which are unsafe I think lol. On the upside you get really good options IF they hit so it's interesting to see how/if they will tweak it.

hey guys I was messing around with the demo and I noticed something that I dont think was brought up before
(or it might have i could be wrong >__> )

If you pick ayane ... you can go into her :1::1: spinny back stance or even her :1: :1::3_: spinny forward stance before the match starts .. ( meaning while the announcer is still saying GET READY... FIGHT! )

I think this is because that stance doesnt require a button input like hayabusas :1::P+K: or hayates :6::P+K: stances ...

I just thought this is interesting because you can start the match with ayane with moves from one of those two stances safely which can be a cool way to get in on someone from the beginning of a round ... :)

Attacking back-facing RD1 fight is not a smart thing to do, even for her. I think she could always spin before matches started.

hmm i never really mained ayane so i wasnt really sure if she could do this in the older games... but i just thought it was kinda interesting ... especially if you time it right you can get a nice little aggressive mixup (either the low kicks or the mid punch)

plus starting back facing might not be too bad if you do it every once and a while for the sake of screwing with someones head. ayane has some pretty nasty tools from that position. especially if the opponent chooses not to close the gap ..

anyway .. i just thought it was pretty sick.

There was a trick in the early days of DOA where people would start with her BT 7k which was fast and crushed highs, but that's just a trick since that move is so unsafe. So starting BT is nothing new.

Hi guys I am new here but I am matt from VFDC,

I have been promoting DOA5 on VFDC, i think the game will do well and the VF characters will make it easier for VF people to get used to DOA.

Please keep asking TN for the game to be up to scratch competitively. I havent played the demo yet but from what I gather, it seems that the game is not too dissimilar from older DOAs...which is ok, because I ilke DOAU, but it would be nice to have frame advantages on P and the stuff that make VF so much fun to play competitively.

Hey Matt this is Jared. I wish P was adv on block too, hopefully that's something that will make it into the final build. To me, although I haven't played the demo, I feel like there are still a few steps DOA5 needs to take in order to be the best it can be, but the things they've done so far are leagues ahead of what was in DOA4. Good to see you promoting DOA5 at VFDC!

From what I've heard only Ryu has an offensive hold atm(the handstand grab), I think Ayane's running hooligan throw could be one, but not sure so don't take my word for that one. From the looks of the CvsB video though Bayman looks like he has a lot of them like normally.

None of the demo chars have them... I think it goes back to what Shinbori was saying about making each char unique. Hopefully the grapplers kept their OHs

Ayane and Hayabusa have one offensive hold each.

For Hayabusa it is :4::H+P: and for Ayane it's :6::6_: (while running) :H+P:.

OH's stop any attack that doesn't have crouching properties... assuming it's timed right.

Ayane - Just run at the other player and press A

That depends what attacks she has BT. You can turn around before the match starts so you aren't wasting frames that way. In 4 she had that 7k that stopped absolutely everything, only downfall was that it was unsafe, but not many people block R1F.
