Ah I got ya. Maybe once I get things rolling we can work some stuff out. Editing isn't my forte and I'd be willing to pay for help. We can discuss it later.

Ok, so it wasn't you who messed up. The equipment aided that, I get that. Leave dat DOA4 online play alone, we've all had/seen enough lol. Yeah the vids do look good I give you that.

Thanx,

I was really trying to put the game in a better light with these due to the whole SRK thing.

Like grap3 was asking about the taunting for instance, the intended audience for people who "like a show" , so I'm like : BIG COMBOS, MORE SS's, PB Cancels, Counter The Ledge attack, etc, plus adding in familiar tunes non DOA players might like.

So if they make people smile, my work is done here . . . for now cuz this DEMO can be a little addicting.

:ayane:'s like liquid to me now and I love how :hitomi: hits stuff XD!

First video uploaded. Just kinda mindlessly mashed through a match against the AI to test it out. I'll link it in this post once it's viewable. Ignore the actual gameplay for now and just give some feedback on quality if you would be so kind. I'll look into adding things like player names and custom graphics later. I'm aware that the audio isn't there for the first second or two...and I don't know why so I'll work on that lol.

First of all Cyber, what exactly are you going for with this? What I mean by that is, If you're getting into this just so you have something to record with, you're doing really good with what you have now. If you're going for ridiculously super-high quality to the point where it's pretty much like watching the game on the same screen regardless of where you are, you've got a bit of work to do still.

It looks a lot better than Gill's but still too blurry at fullscreen to be true 720p.

Still, for general recording purposes I'd say its far above average.

Encode your videos at 30 instead of 60 because it's a waste of space and bitrate when it comes to youtube. For other sites, you can do a seperate 60 frame version. You can try and save the sound and then put it in separately in case you need to amplify or remove click or whatever. There are some pretty easy Avisynth scripts out there you can use.

Thanks for the tips gentlemen.

Rikuto, this was a test run with a compressed .AVI so I can make it look better than this. I have Sony Vegas for editing but this first video was just a quick capture and upload. It does full 720p so the blurriness you saw was a result of compression. As for my goal...idk. I like having things to work on so that's mostly it. Busy work that happens to be fun.

Whoa there, that is excessive even if it's compressed avi. You probably want to encode it with Megui so that you end up with an mp4 with decent bitrate. Avis are just too big.

^ That's mine. I don't have an HD set up, even though my software is built for it. My hardware is Pinnicle Studio. Can't remember which version, but it's pre-HD. I even use the S-Video Cable as well. The software to capture is Pinnicle Studio 12. Had to download it so it'd work with Vista. Then my video editor is Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10.0.

Oh and I record and render my videos in MPEG2, which has them playback in 60fps. Just don't see it on YouTube.

The capture device can do .mp4 natively at 13.5Mbps with no extra encoding needed. Should I just stick with that? I am very new to this so I'm learning as I go.

What capture device are you using? I'm guessing you're either using black magic or Happauge. Aver Media's pretty good too.

Hauppauge. 1445 I think? If I get more into doing this I'll go with one of the better ones that accepts HDMI but I'd need to invest quite a bit more for that.

You don't necessarily need that right now. My suggestion is that you record in .avi for now. Then use Avisynth script to import your video and audio into MeGui so that it can be encoded with X264 anf FAAC. You might also want VirtualDub so that you can view your script before encoding to check for error or where to trim and cut.

Also DO NOT USE MEDIACODER.

Alright so Rikuto and I just finished a...well it was a really long (read: too long) session of DoA5. I capped a solid two hours and will be uploading matches soon. There is a good chance that I'm going to upload the entire session, at least what I have of it, because editing out single matches with that much to go through will require a LOT more watching of DoA5 than I want to do today.

Sorry Rikuto.

In his defense, though since he beat me much more than I beat him I'm not sure why I need to defend him, he's running on a significant lack of sleep and we spent a good amount of time nearly braindead thanks to "WTF?" "It's DOA!" shenanigans. So yeah. They'll be on my channel sometime within the next few hours. Trying to edit it down to 20 minute or so clips.

EDIT: Holy shit, no way am I uploading 20 minute blocks. I am going to upload a lot of the matches, but they are going up one or two at a time at most. WOW the uploads take forever.

EDIT 2: Gonna start putting them here tomorrow, I think. Got the first two uploaded. Feel free to subscribe. I had a ton of subs on my old profile (and like 250k views...) but cleared it out because I only had trailers up and wanted to start fresh.

It was pretty bad. But yea, gravity works wierd with hayate now and I got tired of trying to figure out consistent combos. I also really didnt care enough to look up any that other people have discovered since the game is pretty much just lulz right now.

The entire session was basically just doing random shit with no rhyme or reason. We were also trying to actively land powerblows on each other to shame the other person.

lol, hayate's juggles are basic as hell now. i've been trying to figure out some fancy stuff and without a slope, its not happening. maybe i haven't been trying hard enough but i don't really care either. power blows to shame one another sounds like a fun session.

I was watching the videos Cyber is/was putting up and wow Hayate seems LESS than basic. Another thing that has always ticked me off about him is how when you get a high launch with him you always have to be super careful when extending the juggle with his PPP because the last punch loves to miss >_> I agree with what you were saying Rikuto about gravity and combos with him, it seems his moves don't like to keep the opponent in the air(unless you're on a slope and even then it's still true :/ ). What happened to all of his other combos? PP<-PP, PPKK, PP->PK? Do they do less damage now or do they constantly miss now?
