I don't feel very reassured by what they said about the netcoding. It doesn't sound like the overall latency is going to be better. Wish Master had just been honest about the overall connection being sub par rather than asking a vague question about the netcoding.

Nerf to low holds is great. Funny that they said they needed to see low holds being used wrong before changing it. I saw them being used wrong before DOA5 came out last year.

No mention about Helena's ponytail... bullshit.

Yeah, I feel the same. It's obvious Shimbori dodged the question so he wouldn't have to admit the probable truth - netcode hasn't been improved. I wouldn't hold my breath. Also, lol at Shimbori saying they're waiting to see players play the game some more to decide what to do to improve the game. As if 8 months of DOA5 weren't enough beta testing to actually see what's wrong with the game.

God Dimensions was a cancer to the series. People are asking for Dimensions' stun system, Dimensions' shitty and lame bosses, Dimensions' stages. Let DOAD die already.

Dimensions' stun system gave max launch height if the stun was caused by a HCB. That doesn't always happen. Also, Freedom Survivor is lame as all hell, nothing goes on in there... we have Burai Zenin, Aerial Gardens, Kyoto in Bloom, Seaside Market, Dragon Hills, etc, etc, etc and people here ask for FREEDOM SURVIVOR!¿

Seriously.

Also, Freedom Survivor is lame as all hell, nothing goes on in there... we have Burai Zenin, Aerial Gardens, Kyoto in Bloom, Seaside Market, Dragon Hills, etc, etc, etc and people here ask for FREEDOM SURVIVOR!¿

I agree, though I would also say that requesting Kyoto in Bloom and Seaside Market is pretty silly too, considering that almost everything from DOA2U and DOA3 blows those two away.

Point in being, the game's aesthetics and design department needs an overhaul. Everything is bland.
You'd think with the low amount of polish on each character, the stages would have taken all the size, detail and special effects in that loss.

No rain, snow, real-time reflections..
They even removed wind physics from the winpose-- when you do nothing but stare and pay attention to detail at that time.
In this vid, you can see they removed self shadowing from character models (and wind physics).

I personally think the character models look incredible. Some of the costumes are pathetic like the safari ones but in general I like the character models in DOA5 much more than in any other fighter. The stages are another issue, though. Some of them look nice (Scramble, Temple of the Dragon) and others are just bland and have shitty textures especially on the floor (Sakura, Street).

Wind effect is supposed to be back for Ultimate I think.

The doad stun system is believed to be the best representation of the threshold system. if you initiated a stun on normal hit then the first stun set the threshold to level 1, requiring you to use the system to get to level 2 then level 3 for Max launch. Initiating on counter blow started at level 2 on the first blow but you could still perform the same combo to extend if you wanted, you just could reach level 3 faster. Starting on hi-counter blow immediately put you at level 3 making it so a launch at any point gave Max launch but you could still extend as normal if you want.

The only addendum to this system I would impose is that if an attack was guaranteed after a hold or throw advantage then that first attack carries over the hit level of that throw or hold instead of counting as normal hit every time.

It is my belief his system was thrown out in DOA5 due in part to DOAD's low sales, and the return of unholdable states and natural combos. However, that's merely speculation.
