this might be a silly question but i figured id ask, does anyone know if the songs on stages go by character themes again like they did in Doa4 or does each place just have its own theme now. I didnt really pay attention when i played haha

Character themes are gone, replaced with stage themes.

Each stage has its own theme, some stages re-using character themes from DOA4. Fighting Entertainment uses Tina's theme, Depth uses Alpha-152's.

The stage theme actually fit, but I would like character theme songs as well. A dl pack for all the games would be great. Just let us choose which songs we want to use.

DoA's music has always been so garbage I couldn't pick it out now, ever. I don't know how many hours I have logged into DoA2, 3, and 4, but I honestly could hear a DoA song right now and wouldn't know that I've ever heard it before because the tracks are so unoriginal and boring I could care less. Most of the time I just put my TV on mute and turn on my own soundtrack or something. Don't get me wrong, it's not just DoA, Tekken 6 has a garbage soundtrack as well, and I can't even remember if VF5FS even has music and I was just playing it last night. KoF is the only fighter of recent that not only do I enjoy the music while I'm playing, but I would listen to it outright. Iori has probably one of the best themes I've ever heard.

Of course it stood out, it's nothing but three guys wailing on trash cans for 2:52.

Ha ha. Reading that reminded me of the old "Bangin' on a Trash Can" song from Doug. I miss the cartoons of the 90's.

But yeah, Tribal Beats was awful.

I'd be a fool to pay for classic music DLC when we have custom soundtracks! And man am I gonna put that feature to good use in this one.
LoL, I was thinking the same thing lol

Since we're on this topic, check out these from DOA
Leon:

Christie:

Omega Genra:

Hayate:
Bayman:
I'm guessing people already posted these, but I didn't bother reading through. These are some my favorite tunes.

Reincarnate

Kasumi Alpha's Theme (DOAD)

Power Shovel

Prismatic Butterfly

Mayflower

Aya

Power is Beauty

A modern vocal remix of "Codename: Bayman" performed by Seryoga. If they can't afford him, forget it.

Another rap song specifically dedicated to this game performed by Bone Thugs 'n Harmony as an answer to Snoop Dogg (which was really dedicated to his name change). If they can't afford him, then Adam Tensta.

As a side note, the promotional renders and cutscenes for both DOA3 and DOA4 make me wonder why they just didn't go with that style for DOA5. It's disappointing to see the new DOA5 style Jann Lee having little in common with that highly detailed Jann Lee model that was on the DOA3 cover, as well as his awesome story ending.

Or maybe it's just disappointing how little anyone in DOA5 looks like they used to.
It really seems like there's some missing link in their design routine ever since Itagaki left...........

Since this seems to be a music appreciation thread for all the great DOA games 1,2,3 and 4, this is probably my favorite thread on the entire site right now. Any collective appreciation for the series as a whole like this one is just nice to see, ya know?

To the couple of people who are bagging on the previous DOA game's music in this thread, I've got nothing to share with you. If DOA5 had decent music for the most part, this thread and discussion wouldn't even exist.
to the people who came here to listen to and discuss great DOA tracks, even for the widely improbable idea of DLC, here's to you.
