Sarah being complete bullshit, eh? Looks like another, average day of the week.

While we're at it, why don't her turn her 6P into a launch on NH and an infinite refloat? That would sure be awesome and would allow pros to make the opponent's life bar go to zero in a non-flashy but efficient way!

I challenge you to do something besides whine and get this nerfed: I challenge you to find more like it.

The attitude from the guys on commentary frightens me and that's why I'm making this thread.
It's tag and on a feather weight class. Also, I'm pretty sure I was one of the commentators. Please let me know what you're concerned with and I'll do my best to explain myself.

the other day i saw two MMA fighters get done caving each others heads in and right after the guy who KNEW he lost smiled a big ass bloody grin and hugged the other guy who just finished giving him a thorough ass whooping.

there are those that enjoy what they do

Yeah, but when you play without juggles matches go on forever. This is 4(recoverable) life bars in 99 seconds already takes a long time even with said juggles.

And what's the the problem with matches taking longer? It's two on two, I want it to last a while. As is, its pretty underwhelming that its over so fast, faster than one on one at times.

Then again I always play on infinite/largest, and I enjoy drawn out matches. Makes the win that much better.

But for those who want matches to end quickly, that's why I said id love an option for nonsuperjuggle tag.

I'm an advocate of making Tag match victories dependent on the loss of one partner.
I think it would further validate the whole "force out" mechanic as well.

The only place you can really guarantee any damage in DOA is in a juggle and you're advocating that you can get out of that as well. Do you have any idea how ridiculous that is?

Was it when I was saying, "I know i'm in the air, but I mash buttons in hopes that it makes me fall faster." Hopefully you don't think I was being serious.

Because you're advocating bad design. A game shouldn't naturally lead to time outs.

people really forget their playing a video game dont they?
Or maybe some people enjoy winning.

To quote from Sirlin's "Playing to Win."
A common call of the scrub is to cry that the kind of play in which one tries to win at all costs is “boring” or “not fun.” Who knows what objective the scrub has, but we know his objective is not truly to win. Yours is. Your objective is good and right and true, and let no one tell you otherwise. You have the power to dispatch those who would tell you otherwise, anyway. Simply beat them.
Let’s return to the group of scrubs. They don’t know the first thing about all the depth I’ve been talking about. Their argument is basically that ignorantly mashing buttons with little regard to actual strategy is more “fun.” Superficially, their argument does at least look valid, since often their games will be more “wet and wild” than games between the experts, which are usually more controlled and refined. But any close examination will reveal that the experts are having a great deal of this “fun” on a higher level than the scrub can even imagine. Throwing together some circus act of a win isn’t nearly as satisfying as reading your opponent’s mind to such a degree that you can counter his every move, even his every counter.

That takes out alot of the more interesting meta-game elements of tag. Including ones that are because of having snap backs.

I know (maybe I should say "I think I know") that Brad and Pai have a semi-infinite with Pai's KK and then tagging Brad in and immediately going into his while-rising KK. Without walls, I think it would be an infinite. Granted, I haven't really tested this out extensively, but I think this is kinda what we're looking for.

Also, d3v, everyone enjoys winning. Literally, everyone likes to win. The problem is that not enough people just enjoy actually playing. Damn near everyone is just doing whatever it takes to win. Interesting quote aside, playing someone who's doing "whatever it takes" can be extra fucking boring. I don't mind losing. At all. But I'd much rather lose to someone who beat me using the entirety of their knowledge of a character and his/her tactics/options than to someone just doing whatever wins the match. Just my two cents though.

P.S. Comparing professional athletes/sports to gamers/video games? Lol seriously? Don't get crazy...
