DOA demos

Here's every single DOA demo I've been able to acquire - please let me know if I've missed any. (I couldn't find record of any DOA1 demos, were there any??)

The reason? Beta leftovers. Demos are typically built on old trade event demos and often have some leftovers. The DOA2 demo has three different audio tracks and a huge bundle of changed text plus probably more. The DOA2U demo still uses DOA3 character icons (except Bayman who has his DOA1 icon and has Leon's theme instead of DOA3's Knifepoint) and they face different directions for some reason and it might just be me but the freestepping feels REALLY loose (I was actually freestepping strings in the 2U demo?? wtf??). The DOA4 demo has the beta character select icons and layout and an unpacked file structure (in the final, everything in packed into various AFS containers) but the individual character files have been updated to their 4.1 counterparts (the demo released half a year after the game came out). Anyway, ya'll might be better equipped to find any differences or you might just be curious so I'm sharing in one place for convenience's sake.

There is a PAL DOA1 demo that's been in several demo cds. The NTSC PS1 demo is exactly the same as the PAL counterpart but without a preview bit at the end of the demo.

There's also a Japanese PS1 trade demo that's completely different however
Thanks... I didn't have a PS1 so that's the platform I'm least familiar with. Looks like there's a ton of demos and I wonder if they're all different or duplicates or what... Tha's exactly what I'm trying to determine.

Finally found some DOA2U demo footage after struggling to find some for months
DOA 3 Demo
PS1 Trade demo (apparently there's another Japanese demo after seeing a Japanese demo menu that had it but no footage or screenshots of it exist as far as i know, probably the same as the one the US had i'm guessing
One of the early DOA 5 builds has Hitomi wearing a black version of her jacket (footage no longer exists???) but i have no clue if that's a glitch or was something orignally intended

Man, this is amazing!! I collect demos, so this is like heaven to me XD
The DOA4 demo i have in both Official Xbox Magazine demo disc (it is actually unlockable by playing the other demos in the disc, and also a dual disc, as it have both Xbox and Xbox 360 content) and a burned copy of the PS1 trade demo version (which actually can be completed in arcade mode with the characters avaliable in the demo). I wish i could get eventually the PS1 standard PSM demo and the original Xbox Magazine demos (DOA3 and DOA2U). PAL regions had more demos, but my PS2 is region locked, so not yet XD
Again, thanks!!

EDIT: I uploaded a vid of the OXM64 version of the DOA4 demo!!

@WAZAAAAA
I found this, still downloadable ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ https://digiex.net/threads/dead-or-...tion-download-all-consoles-no-jtag-rgh.10449/
Dead Or Alive 5 Alpha Demo Premium Edition Download [All Consoles, No Jtag / RGH]

Info on the demo:

People who pick up Ninja Gaiden 3's first print run will get a serial code for downloading an alpha demo of Dead or Alive 5.

The demo, titled "Demo Alpha Version," differs for PS3 and 360 owners. PS3 owners get Hayate and Ayane as playable characters. Xbox 360 owners get Hayabusa and Hitomi as playable characters.

All four characters are available with the games collectors edition. Buyers of this version get the Dead or Alive 5 Demo Alpha Version Premium Edition, which includes all four characters.

Tecmo Koei says that the demo will not be released outside of the Ninja Gaiden 3, however you can download it here at Digiex
;)

How to use:

The demo will work on all Xbox 360's, no JTAG / RGH hack is required now.

The demo must be un rar'ed and the files / folders for the Demo must be placed in the Content\0000000000000000 on the Xbox 360 hard drive, or an Xbox 360 formatted USB memory stick.

You can also create a Content\0000000000000000 folder on a DVD-R, place the demo files and folders here and burn to a disc.

Hey, thanks for posting these demo/beta builds.
As my XBOX 360 isn't modded, i would like to ask, is there any noticiable changes from these DOA4 demos to the Marketplace/OXM demo and the full game?

Thank you for uploading these demo builds. Has anyone able to get the 2005 sept DOA4 demo build working? I tried it on my RGH and it glitches at the title screen and then eventually crashes. I'm so keen to try it, I believe its the same demo used at TGS and x05 events that year.

The DOAU demo is dated two months prior to launch and has some minor differences I can see but I'm curious to see what others can find. The character select icons are all still DOA3's. Character portraits flip which I don't recall being in the final or maybe my memory's bad.

Jann Lee, Tina, and Bass have slightly different remixes but I'm struggling to tell the differences. Bayman uses Leon's theme in this version unlike the final where he has his DOA3 theme. Hitomi's DOA3 theme is present and unchanged. tgs2004.adx is "Transcendence" or whatever it's called.

but putting the files next to each other in an audio editor does show them as being different so go nuts

Since it's a demo most of the menus are locked (everything except time attack) but if you browse with a hex editor or a disassembler you can see some of the text is still in the process of being translated. There's also leftover text from DOA3 (cut install screen, analog buttons) but those are in the final too.

Maybe a more capable hacker can figure out how to unlock it from demo mode and explore the rest of the contents.

That's the same issue I'm running into. I'm not sure if it requires an older dashboard or if the data itself is corrupt.

The DOA4 demo with the later date is just the Marketplace/OXM demo but the earlier one is the online-only press preview event: https://www.ign.com/articles/2005/10/05/x05-dead-or-alive-4-hands-on

DOA4 2005.09.30 Beta Re-rip (less corrupt than previous link but still some corrupt data)
DOA4_360_e3_Dev_Build_Demo.rar

Livestream exploring:

Managed to defeat the lockout and get into the menus but the game hangs at any character selection due to corrupt data.

My patch "works" per se but the game overwrites the values so I need to investigate what's actually writing those values.
