I'm fine with the ninja packs being recolours, but I'm hoping for different models for each pack: Pack 1 is Kasumi a/Phase 4's suit recoloured, maybe Pack 2 is Ayane's C3 recoloured or something.
Otherwise, does anyone know when the ninja preorder costumes will be available for anyone as DLC? Free catalog?
I'd like to at least see the costumes my friends are shoving in my face.

It's typically about 3 months for pre-order outfits to be sold. That was the case for 5U.
But Ayane's C3 isn't a ninja outfit. It's a dress. If they were gonna give them recolors of one of Ayane's outfits, I'd say it'd probably be either her C1 or C9

Yes, I hope that they will choose at least 2 different models for the outfits of the kunoichi, of course continuing to make unique between them the male shinobi's ones. Anyway it's also true that the selection of another model could make lose some originality to the outfits of the original owners, while instead I can't see this to happen with Ayane's C2/Phase 4's C2, just because those are very classic ninja outfits. This is maybe the only time where I could almost wish that they keep an unique outfit for a part of the roster XD But I know that for a matter of variety could be better to use alternative costumes.
I believe that you will have to wait from 1 to 3 monhts from the release of Last Round. But yes, usually as @WisperG said, the amount of time for a DoA temporary exclusive is 3 months.

I don't know what other models they could use, we still need to know before if they want keep the image of a ninja in traditional old outfits or to use even the ones with a modern/western look. For example I think that the most mature ladies could appear fitting with Ayane's C8 (NG3RE DLC).

Ayane and Honoka make sense as the last two. Obviously Honoka and Hibari are very similar. Those two girls have a very unique relationship. One is the protector. Since Ayane and Honoka have their unique tag, it would make sense to have them cosplayers best friends. I have been thinking Phase-4 makes the most sense as Homura. Asuka and Homura are rivals, but they are so similar too that it would be a nice touch. I wouldn't be super surprised if Ayane gets Homura, but Phase-4 would be better and make more sense.
Daidouji will either be Rachel or Nyotengu. Rachel because of her power heavy and forceful fighting style or Nyo because she would have that giant meatlog as her item. Haha. I just don't see Mila as Daidouji at all, her stature, presence, and personality are all wrong for that character.

That's how I feel about Rachel as daidouji lol. Other than "being tall", Rachel just doesn't fit at ALL lol. Too overly feminine, dominatrix themed, tends more towards revealing/sexy outfits, etc. There's just NOTHING masculine (or particularly strong) about Rachel in the least, so giving her Daidouji's outfit would be awkward as hell lol. With Mila, I'm reasoning, put the tomboy outfit on the tomboy! Plus seeing her beat downs with that outfit would be awesome
Rachel would work best as Shiki, or even that girl on the far left, the fake smile girl.
Nyo I still imagine as the girl with the hannya mask

I think that MR got new hair color because her classic outfit look a lot like Mirai's one, so they had to make her look "different". I'm pretty sure she will be the only one to get that treatment.
I do hope they don't alter Kasumi's hair color like in the picture... I like her better as a redhead haha

Actually from the screenshot in-game we already know that Kasumi kept her classic hairstyle with the Senran Kagura outfit, at the most she could get an alternative one (but unlikely, otherwise it would have been promoted just as for Marie Rose's case):

The original post did say that its in the developmental stage (WIP), so it may (and I stress MAY) change.
I know not everyone would agree with me, but I do hope for the sake of the set, we get "wigs" or dyed hair like Ayane's Orochi white hair. I just feel, for this set it would be nice. Also, with the new hair selection menu, even if the hair styles/colours are exclusive to these sets, it would be plausible to change them to default for these sets!
Rachel doesnt really act like a Dominatrix though, she has a tough and overconfident personality very similar to Daidouji 'sThat's how I feel about Rachel as daidouji lol. Yeah that's a point where i completely disagree with you haha. What I seek for this pack is a DOA outfit DLC with SK's ones. I don't want a full cosplay. I really like Kasumi's one due to her "staying Kasumi", and revisiting Asuka's outfit in her way. I think a total swap would be a waste, IMO it would be a lot nicer to have our beloved DOA girls to wear those costumes in their own way.
Even so, what i just want is for Kasumi to keep her hair color, i don't care about the others ^^

But they'll likely be sticking to everyone's battle garb, plus it looks a little too similar to one of the outfits from that school pack we got for Ultimate way back when.
