So as some may know, DOA5 Last Round will get a Senran Kagura costume pack where the girls of DOA will get to cosplay as the girls of Senran Kagura. Here is a sneak peek at the costumes.

The costume pack won't just feature the DOA girls in the Senran Kagura outfits, but it is also said that it would include costume destruction to the outfits that with certain damage can rip part of the clothing off further and further. So with this pack having that option, it could be possible that it won't be an SK costume exclusive for long. Its rumored that the costume destruction would be added as an option that will come from a upcoming patch.

So with the possibility of this being available to all costumes in the future, would you be up for it, against it, or will you not mind it?

Personally, I would be up for it because the option sounds pretty cool to see in DOA.

Eh, it makes sense if your gonna have a SK themed wardrobe and want the most genuine experience possible. Would be weird if this was a universal costume mechanic addition that is just barely being added in LR. I can see it for DoA 6 though which wouldn't be much of a big deal because several other fighters already have costume damage/destruction mechanic which serves as an aesthetics enhancer.

Either way I have the sneaking suspicion this may be apart of the soft ban. Definitely hard ban if the destruction is dragged out like in the SK games.

Yes to the SK outfits since it's their trademark but no more after that. It could look good if executed properly but what it will amount to is that it will be female exclusive with them ending up in their bra and panties once defeated. I could use a swimsuit if I wanted that.

No thanks. I already have to deal with giggling whenever I say I play DOA for the fighting. This won't so much add fuel to the fire as much as transform an entire ocean into an inferno.

You do realize that costume destruction doesn't necessarily mean sexualization right? Dragon Ball Z did it, Mortal Kombat 9 did it, Soul Calibur did it, and other games have done it.

And who is to say that this feature is just for the girls anyway? It can very much be available for males too.

mortal kombat and soul calibur are the worst examples considering the costume destructions were more sexualized towards the female then the males. like literally fabric strands away from nip slips and coochie reveals. BUT i get what you're saying.

im on the "save it for DoA6" bandwagon. that way they can fully utilize the feature because if we're looking at the rips and tears from all the costume contest outfits, the textures are gonna look........................................................a hot mess. and with DoA you can almost bet that this feature may not even be geared towards the male fighters or their rips are gonna be very minimal compared to the feamles. idk tho i could completely wrong.

i just think its a DoA6 feature, the game already needs to try and clean up it's act a little bit, don't need to add more to make it even more of a target for over-sexualization.

From a business standpoint, it's a feature that will cater more to the casual, fanservicey market. It really depends on the development costs of implementing the physics of ripped clothes. Knowing that they were willing to put development on oppai physics, they'll likely implement that feature on DOA6 for all costumes. The collaboration with Senran Kagura is likely an experiment to see what the feedback of their market shares is implementing it.

Personally don't mind it since it doesn't hinder nor enhance gameplay.

yeah, i don't mind they testing cloth destruction on LR, later they can refine the engine mechanic for DOA6 later

I think it's a neat idea, but I'd rather they wait until DOA6 and really work it out rather than rushing to put it out on DOA5LR. And I'd rather it look like actual damaged clothing, rather than "here is a massive rip on top of Kasumi's boobs."

Knowing the appeal in the Japanese market, they will add it as an OMG mode feature on the clothing destruction option

Has Team Ninja ever said this will be an actual feature? Seems like a pretty difficult thing to implement well out of nowhere.

If it is added, I'm not expecting it to look good.
