Rachel is "fake", it's a key part of her character development. she's so broken inside from losing her sister she has to force a tough and confident exterior. She's honestly beautiful in my eyes.

when she opens up is when she's the most real, thats why she's my bae ♥

Now time for humor.

I started to use Rachel in WO3U now because of this.

Alright I'll stop since it's not a WO3U thread.

Is it just me, or are those better ground textures than DOA5?

I never got it in my head, why fighters aren't the best looking games on console anymore. In older console generations they were. Very limited amount of characters on screen, small, limited arenas/stages. How do many open world games, with so much more going on on screen, manage to look better nowadays? I just don't get it... :/
Look at Tekken 7. It looks barely better than Soul Calibur 5. Yes, they said, it runs on only 60% of the final graphical power...blahblah. That lie is as old as time... XD

It should be obvious that while there's more content - just the landscapes in AAA RPGs alone - I haven't even put the first set piece down yet (Oblivion/Skyrim, Mass Effect Trilogy, the Zelda games, Fable, etc.). Somehow last gen was able to get all of this stuff in and it looked amazing. However, all of a sudden last gen is too limited. These games required more time to develop and more time was put into developing them. Not saying that developing a fighter takes less time - although it's significantly less than an RPG, but if essentially nothing was done to an Action-Adventure game (you know what I'm referring to).

The tech jargon is just a bone for techies to fight over, just like the graphics whores. 1080 is better than 720, but they'll blow a gasket if something is in the middle 900, I don't get it. I do, but I don't. I get the graphics are important, but I don't get why you ignore everything else in the package - like, idk - content and/or gameplay (among many other elements)

That's like complaining about how a 2D anime game isn't 3D. They didn't want it to be a 3D anime game! That will be a first if there has never been one! (That isn't point). I'm shocked no one said anything about MK9 being 2.5D. I said myself, that it seemed odd, but after the maligned MK4, most were glad NRS went back to 2D or met us half way with 2.5D. Didn't change the fact that it was a good game, but ultimately that came down to gameplay + content. MKX will be no different!

Btw, 9 looked pretty good on last gen; therefore, despite some sacrifices, I think X will look great, too.

Laziness and excuses from devs who don't think we know how game models and textures work.

I guess it's because they want to cut production time. Like, you only really pay attention to the ground textures when watching a match and zooming in. Sure, it's eyegrating when you notice it, but most people don't care ;_;

Sigh... like the textures in the DLC dude costumes. I bought Hayabusa's Oni and while I really like it, dat low res tiger skin (and the horrendous clipping) make me disappointed.

I guess it's because they want to cut production time.

Who wants to? That's not important, but that's the big problem cutting corners! But here's the irony: As gamers how many corners do we cut? Think about it! Vanilla everybody said Survival was a bitch, Arcade was a bitch - hell, Alpha from DOA4 was one and that's putting it nicely or NG3:RE. All of us rationalize and justify with this (even against human players online/offline) - "If you opponent is cheap, you be cheap!" Here's more irony: The complaints about boss fights where it's rinse and repeat, but you will rinse and repeat and say you found an exploit.

Just think about that for a moment! Companies force devs or devs are willing cut corners to release a game and we complain how it's rushed (and Master also gave an example with Itagaki being pressured with DOA3 & 4). yet, delay it and we grow impatient!

I will go a step further and use DOA characters:

It seems like I'm bending over backwards in wasted efforts to explain how & why I play Alpha differently. here me out: As the player, I have the controller, telling her what to do and/or not do. I keep hearing "Rush all day!" So, I in effect, tell her to do that; yet, I don't end up satisfied. I won a few but I'm not satisfied. I play a few more doing the same thing. This time I end up losing! Why did this happen?

Then, the person tells me more of what I did wrong than right - despite playing her like I should have! But, here's the kicker: "You should've known that would get you in trouble if you kept doing it!" Now, is it Alpha's fault or mine? Mine, since I told her to do this! I was so eager to get another batch quick wins, I paid for it! IOW, I got greedy! (I'm told often not to get greedy if I'm playing ranked matches and I heed this advice)

So, next time, I tell her to slow down, take your time, delay, delay, delay! Now, my opponent is getting impatient, Due to the impatience, he gets some wins, but she still remains calm and guess what? She wins, but it was more worthwhile because she didn't RUSH things! I get a message saying how impressive I was! The end product was better since she did what she should have been told to do to begin with! We cut corners earlier, but we learned our lesson having done so!

Yet, every time we clock in, we're faced with the same dilemma: Rush or Delay? We're pretty smart though since we know how to delay the rush nor do we rush the delay! FFT!

I'm not the impatient type, I can really wait a lot for games. In fact, I prefer to wait years instead of having a rushed game. To quote Shigeru Miyamoto:

"A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."

But many really prefer to get games earlier instead of waiting and do something else with their lives. I would do a Smash Bros example but people already barfed at the idea of Last Round on Wii U, so I'll refrain, LOL.

I guess I could compare such situation with most DLC outfits for the girls: they are rushed, copypasted, and done for quick cash, yet people still buy them, or say "I don't like them, I won't support it buy just buying Kokoro chan's!".

I don't know if that made sense... but thinking about it, I guess graphics and games are getting worse because gaming's standards are getting lower, and fans wants everything earlier, and they jump at every shitty product they want you to buy because ???. Also there's less money in general.

Anyway... after this being said, I guess I should be more on topic and hope Last Round won't be a poopy and rushed update.

Those new stages could amount to 4 tho, and be added to old gen too..

I just want exciting stages like the ones in previous DOAs where you can smack your opponent down a flight of stairs and through some balloons again. Knocking your opponents into dinosaurs, kicking them through windows and into billboards, being able to run over short walls and continuing pressure. :^))))
I don't know, the stages in DOA5/5U could've been.. more alive? There's almost nothing going on in most of them.
The stages used to be so pretty and alive, now they're just ugly, ugly, and uglier. QAQ But, I don't think I can complain, they're bringing back Crimson, which looks absolutely amazing and really fun to play on and Danger Zone which looks like juggle (Rachel's) heaven.

I can definitely agree to this. I noticed that, when I can choose where to fight, I only end up going with the same 6/7 stages. Looking back at what the series had to offer, this is a real shame, especially since now we should be able to get better looking things with even more intricate cool hazards. But no, here's a square, which is a totally original wrestling ring, yo! How many rings are in the game?? 4??

Both of Master's streams talked extensively about the stages! I think he said 3 were in one game, 5 were in another where 5U has eleven! He also talked about strategies that the stages played a huge part in. He touched on alot more. I found myself agreeing with the majority of what he said and I've only played two games.

(I think the stream from Saturday is archived. I believe he said he would also put it on Youtube. I would guess that's uploaded there, too)

I wonder, which character they will announce first... The new female or the male veteran? (I'm pretty sure, they won't announce both at the same time.) What would make more sense and keep the casuals and pros more on the edge of their seat until release?
