That would be alright with me. I'm actually more interested in the male character. I'm oversaturated with the girls, bikinis and fetish wear. It's all that comes to my mind recently, when thinking about DOA. x__X

What do you think TN is doing with LR at the moment? I mean, the stages are obviously done and I think the characters are near finished or so. Are they polishing graphics? Tweaking the system? What's your opinion?

I guess they are working in new characters. There's a lot of work and a lot of bugs to fix when you add new content such as new stages and new characters. And probably they are working in new costumes and hairstyles also since in last playable demos not all of them were aviable.
After the characters and costumes/hairstyles are finished, I would guess that the Graphics-update is their main priority, and then, Gameplay.

Well, in fact everything is worked in parallel. While 3D artists work on graphics improvements such as textures, lights, new costumes, hairstyles, etc. designers work on balance changes, new characters balancing, etc and programers, well, they mix everything in their wtf code language nobody understands xD

Team Ninja is bringing this upon themselves, and this is what Japanese fans AND a silent majority of Western fans want the most, too.
I'd be lying if I said that the series didn't interest me also for characters who are sexy and powerful like Tina, and man, yes, I enjoy Jann Lee's thighs, but the costant focus on sex appeal they've put into Ultimate's last bunch of DLC clothing is really boring and unstatisfying. Just... don't let me start on the bikini bunny suspenders summer of doom.
But seeing how a lot of players just see DOA as a titillation, I guess that's how things go and will go.
I mean, I once tried to see if Gamefaqs' DOA5 forums were a good place for lurking, and one thread was like "What's your DOA guilty pleasure?". Most people replied "Playing DOA is my guilty pleasure... hyuk hyuk hyuk" (the laughter wasn't included). And then I also read people say male characters should just be replaced by sexy girls.
Anyway, all I hope for the new male character is for him to be fresh, even if it's a character that follows Nyotengu's idea.
So there's still someone, who thinks there will be a magical graphics update coming in the end? Graphics aren't buffed but nerfed at the end of development, so that everything runs as smooth as possible offline and online. The graphics we saw in preview footage is what you will get. Even in the preview videos the PR people of Team Ninja said, apart from 1080p, new particle effects and squishier boobs, they didn't improve anything, because they think, DOA5 already looks good as it is (which is debatable...).

By what I said, I was talking more along the lines of better lighting, and that'll probably be it. Like how it was in the preview trailer. I do not expect a model update or anything crazy by any means, because the character models already look great (Besides the amount of Aliasing on the male characters). I don't know about what will happen to the floors.

lmaO okay but does anyone think that they'll give as option to turn the crazy particle effects off or at least tone them the fuck down because I'm not tryna have a damn seizure while playing DOA5:LR. I came to have fun not go to the hospital. Also, did they make the health bars thicker in LR?? I was watching a gameplay video and it looks like they're a bit thicker?? Idk, maybe I'm blind.
Most likely, you will be able to turn the particle effects off.
