Still seems like a marketing gimmick to push their audience into re-purchasing the game on current gen systems and getting their market transitioned and settled there for upcoming releases.
The real answer. XD

No, it's just a give. Last gen owners don't really take anything notable. At last last gen owners can still use the new characters and costumes, so it's like a give and take.
Ultimate is already in HD at 720. If you're going to bank on the "even more HD than before" premise you had better go all-out.Besides, as I said, it's clear that Last Round is an HD upgrade for current gen owners
We haven't seen a final build yet, so it's best to reserve how the game looks until we get our hands on it and see it for ourselves. Screenshots normally don't do the final product justice.Ultimate is already in HD at 720. If you're going to bank on the "even more HD than before" premise you had better go all-out.
Pre-release build screenshots usually look better than the final product. They did for DOA5 Vanilla, for example. We haven't seen a final build yet, so it's best to reserve how the game looks until we get our hands on it and see it for ourselves. But to be fair, there has to be some incentive for buying the current gen versions of Last Round, even if they are minute.
But to be fair, there has to be some incentive for buying the current gen versions of Last Round, even if they are minute. Most people can live without the new hairstyles and costume customization menu. The stages seem to be the biggest incentive for PS4/XB1 owners, because stages do play a huge role in DOA. At last last gen owners can still use the new characters and costumes, so it's like a give and take. Besides, as I said, it's clear that Last Round is an HD upgrade for current gen owners and even for people who might be interested in DOA5, but just never bothered with Ultimate/Core Fighters. Plus, I honestly think Last Round is also so that Team Ninja can get used to the PS4/XB1 hardware for any upcoming games.
I think they meant "achieve" and not "archive". But, yeah, they're claiming that if they spend all their time making sure everything works on the previous gen, they wouldn't have time to do all of the upgrading and stuff for the current gen. This includes stages and maybe other things? I dunno. But, like Brute said, things would have to look a lot better than they do now on PS4/Xbone before people will buy this reasoning. Can someone explain the line: "if we optimize the game to last gen, we can't archive the game suited for current gen"? To me it sounds like they're saying they don't want to downgrade the stages for last gen b/c it will somehow mess up the current gen stages which makes zero sense to me. They've already said the specs are completely different so they had to create 2 different versions of everything anyway.
I don't think they've addressed that specifically. But, I'm pretty sure any and all save data and downloaded content carries over from your account.Ok, i got an important question
If you have all the characters bought and unlocked for the ps3 and you get the free to play on the ps4 does that mean all the characters will be unlocked for it??? or if i get it do i have to buy helena and w/e

Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate players can carry over their unlocked titles, costumes and story progress!
Here's hoping the new characters aren't goofy like the dlc ones were so far (anime Loli, feudal bird woman, nightcrawler kasumi). They did good with rig and mila (minus rigs 7 story leg throws...), and id like to have more "real" characters like them.Lol, what do you guys expect? XD There's actually not much stuff to reveal anyway. It's not a new game, it's just an update for current gen with a few more outfits, two new stages and two new characters. In comparison much less than DOA5U. The stages were already revealed, the costumes are not really news worthy, so the two new characters are everything that can be revealed. But there's still 4 months until release. So TN can't blow out everything yet. We probably can expect news for one of the characters in December in maybe a nice holiday trailer.

This is a tragic "like"![]()
I'm sorry were you saying something?
To answer your question though, like you said they'll most likely be in line with MR and Nyo (not that I'd mind though as I think they're great additions). They'll be DLC characters on last gen just like the 3 ones before them so TN needs to "sell them" and will follow the same formula (the guy I'm not so sure how they'll handle). But expect: Santa, cheerleader, nurse, PE uniform, and preorder swimsuit for the girl. XD

Yeah apologies for being negative. Last round has been nothing but let downs for me so farSorry Argentus. :/ Still have my fingers crossed for Marauder Leon. I really want to see it and I think it'll lift your spirits for LR.
I am curious though to see how they'll design the male and if they'll make him more anime-like (if that makes any sense).
