If that number is really accurate, one of the old characters won't get a costume...? I would have guessed Alpha, but she already got her school uniform...though maybe it isn't considered a "new" costume? Other than Alpha it can only be Lisa, who gets the shaft. She might already be absent in Last Round.

What is the likelihood of DLC characters for Last Round? Last Round is the bookend to DOA5, but that means there won't be any more revisions after this (hopefully). They also mentioned about supporting Last Round with more DLC content.

Hayashi seems to have hinted this possibility in one of his Last Round interviews during TGS2014:

"Q:Is it possible that other things will come to the arcade first?

A:Characters "may" come to the arcade version first. I say "may" because many things are still being decided. Once decisions are made, we'll let you know."

Where it's given this info? I'm not able to find it on the official site. EDIT: Ok, I found it now.

By the way actually we have already seen 2 outfits for Alpha-152 (the schoolgirl outfit in 2 different recolors), while we need to realize if in that "31" are included even the outfits for Raidou and the new female girl (because no one confirmed us that all the characters of the roster will get a new outfit from the contest, even if honestly seems to me a logical scenario).

The outfits for the 5U character - apprently included in the disc of Last Round - showned so far are:

So confused with all these announced outfits XD (but a shame that are all for the most sexy outfits for the girls: something more close to proper outfits for guys and gals as the "Ninja2015" pack wouldn't have been bad)

If it's says 31 new costumes, then it's pretty obvious that everybody will get a new costume from first costume contest except Nyotengu, Raidou and new female fighter (what it makes sense since they were not in that contest). But of course there will be other few "new costumes" since new fighters will have more costumes than only 1 and we already know that all girls are getting a sexy swimsuit and the 4 main ninjas a new ninja costume (but all these costumes are DLC costumes, which some of them can be obtained by pre-ordering the game).
So far we have seen 14 of those 31 new costumes, 17 are missing.

That makes sense. We were already wondering in the Costume Contest thread, if Nyotengu would get a costume, as she wasn't part of the first contest. But we thought, that she might get another Halloween contest costume, or a completely new one designed by Team Ninja. But her getting nothing makes actually more sense now.

Obviously, we will see 31 costume contest designs, only Nyotengu won't get one, because she wasn't part of that contest. All the other costumes (bikinis/ninjas...) are preorder bonuses and DLC that will not be included in the game.
Now the question remains, about what the collaboration with Senran Kagura actually is. Is it really costumes? That would mean, to the 31 costumes would come several new SK costumes. Or they will be DLC, not included on the disc.

Since update to Last Round from PS3 Ultimate will be free (so, no really any reason to keep yourself in Ultimate version) and there's no Ultimate for PS4, and there's now crossplay between PS4-PS3, I don't see any really good benefit. I would say a huge THANK YOU if there was crossplay between different console generations (PS4-PS3) or between platforms (PS4-XboxOne).

In DOAW I made a recap of all the infos that we got so far about the costumes announced for Last Round. Of course I could have got something wrong given the amount of not detailed infos. I slighty updated it with the last info got so far.

1. Very likely each character from DoA5U - Nyotengu excluded(?) - will get a new outfit from the first contest and these will be part of the Last Round release (retail game or upgrade pack for the owners of Doa5U on old gen). So far we saw a new outfit for (in order of appearence):

• Marie Rose
• Eliot
• Kokoro
• Brad Wong
• Tina
• Leifang
• Ayane
• Hitomi
• Mila
• Hayate
• Kasumi
• Hayabusa
• Phase 4
• (Alpha-152 got 2 different recolors of a schoolgirl outfit, however not a design from the contest)

2. They will be released 18 swimsuits for each girl + 4 ninja outfits for Hayate, Kasumi, Ryu and Ayane:

So far we know that 16 swimsuits and 4 ninja outfits outfits will be available to the West market through pre-order; at the moment we still need to see the swimsuit of the new girl, and the last 2 swimsuits that will be almost certainly for Sarah and Pai (that apparently so far are avilable only in Japan getting the special retail editions of the game "Collector's Edition" and "Strongest Edition").

3. In these days through the Raidou announcement, Team NINJA revelaed how 4 swimsuits and 4 gravures for the new girls of DoA (Marie Rose, Phase 4, Nyotengu and the new one) will be available in Japan though a first print of the game. So far we know only that one of these swimsuits is for Marie Rose (the japanese school swimsuit), but very likely the other 3 will be dedicated to the rest of new entries overmentioned (that are the ones with less swimsuits compared to the rest of the cast).

4. The official DOA5LR site talk about a Premium Sexy Costume for Kasumi and Phase 4 (second blue note at this link: http://teamninja-studio.com/doa5/lastround/us/ftp.html )

Like always you can be sure that all the extra mentioned will come sooner or later even on the marketplace/store for everyone. So far maybe the only doubt is if the gravure will be something fated to the only current gen or also for the old one.

@Kronin, thanks for the info. Now I am even more confused than before. There are sooooooooo many new costumes on disc, as DLC, as preorders, as first print bonuses, as premiums for what ever. @__@
No wonder, they don't do much updating on the graphics of Last Round on current gen consoles, when they are so busy designing hundreds of new costumes.

@Tyaren: Another schoolgirl outfit (which is translucent), two more colors (all they did was change the brightness/tint/contrast on her default). The lack ideas! And then the quantity comparison. Really? They failed on both fronts! Yet, they can nerf the shit out of her gameplay wise! gtfoh!

I doubt it's 'hard' to do anything concerning Alpha - except not to fuck her up, I guess! Come on now!

@Intelligent Alpha Maybe something more original and cool for Alpha-152 could come later (on FB the fans gave to them nice ideas); currently I thik that we should be glad that at least this time seems the requests for a major attention on her character were listen, indipendently from what outfits she will get. Something better can come only after to get a such basis (same thing for new guys outfits starting with additions on the sexy DLC packs).

There's nothing more ninja than Hayabusa's NG costume with all his weapons. It will match perfectly with my Rachel's design if it makes it into the game (I would love they add her scythe! Ok. I'm dreaming now )
