Feelings about Tag Combos?

I'm not much of a fan of them.
They don't require any stuns, prior moves, etc.
Just a launcher, or a throw to send you up and you're stuck in the air taking 100+ damage.

Personally I'm a solo player, so pulling this out of your ass with no effort is kind of frustrating to me at times.

The only thing I like about Tag Mode are tag teams animations. But well, I don't like playing tag (especially online) so I don't get to see them much.

Make only certain moves taggable and not just allow tags anytime the opponent is in stun or in the air. All sitdown stuns need to be not taggable. All hits that relaunch have a delay before being taggable.

my feelings exactly.
Well, shall we come up with ideas to make it less dumb and stupid?

exactly. or more simply, have a cooldown timer for tagging out.

Cooldown huh? I wonder if just constantly force tagging them would work as a strategy.
I think just not being able to spam instant tag outs would solve a lot of problems. maybe limit tags to only tag team throws, and when tagging out, partner does a full hop into ring animation like when someone is kod now. just something to get rid of the tagspam.

That would eliminate tag combos, though. I'm fine with tag combos as long as they they're not sitdown, tag, sitdown, tag, sitdown, tag, launch, tag, relaunch, tag, relaunch, tag, relaunch, tag, relaunch, tag, relaunch, tag, relaunch, tag, relaunch, tag, relaunch, tag, ender.

Years ago I wasn't a fan of tag. That changed once I actually took the time to learn it.

If a beginner like me can adapt to a situation where I must find the best and quickest way to remove two lifebars with the characters I like (as opposed to one lifebar like a certain other 3D fighter by playing smarter and more defensively), then surely any of you people can. I may win some, and I may lose some, but dad-gummit, as a longtime skeptic of tag, I'm making progress.

Oh, I don't have problems with playing it. I just don't enjoy it 'cause I'd rather play Tekken with my waifu Jun.

You don't find DOA tag combos boring to look at? Just 'cause I can do them doesn't mean I like doing them. :v Jun looks hella badass during combos.

I'm too busy having an adrenaline rush during the fight to bother with whether the tag combo looks "boring". And I owe it all to you guys for helping me care less what others think.

You should've let me remain emo.

I agree that what a combo looks like doesn't really matter, but I legit only play 3D fighters for the aesthetics. I only play 2D competitively.

okay then back to the cooldown idea, so people hafta actually use their head about when to use a tag combo, rather than just spamming it like you said.

And yet you have a decent track record of discussing the competitive aspects of DOA rather eloquently as though you were actually playing them. You're selling yourself short. You're more immersed in the competitive aspects of 3D fighters than you think.

I only play 2D competitively.
I play Darkstalkers. Let's do lunch.

I enjoy tag, especially seeing all the unique intro & win poses, and especially tag throw animations (there are a lot of em!) But the cooldown is an excellent idea & I hope TN hears about it. The main thing I don't like is when a combo goes on way too long. Sure it takes skill, but I like that BB/P4A has a burst you can you use once in a while. DOA could have an air recovery once a round or something.
