):

Everyone has their own tastes I guess. Did you try X-2?

Yeah I tried them both and I liked the world and characters but I think i was so burnt out after just playing through the 13 trilogy. And i rushed to get into the X series so I think if I give it more time I'd enjoy X and X-2 more.

Lol any reason to hate the 13 trilogy Tyaren. I just couldn't go straight from the 13 universe to Spira. Its not the first time though. Back when X first came out I tried to play it and couldn't ( although that was because I was absolutely terrible at the game! ) I have to say though I do think the 13 trilogy was to easy on me since if you died you would just reset to before the battle. I'm guessing you both liked X?

FFX is great! The voice acting...or acting in generel is really not up to date anymore and really cheesy at times...

Okay well you have both convinced me that I need to give FFX a another chance. ( which I'll admit I really didn't in hindsight especially X-2. ) And yeah I think that laughing scene might just be one of the most infamous scenes in gaming.

Compared to FF13 is it harder or easier?

Could be argued either way. I thought the XIII series was easier primarily because there is no limit on MP so you can heal at pretty much any given time. And there isn't quite as much strategy involved.

FFX is turned based, time is relevant in speed terms (and actual time is important in only one or two battles) but you can see the turn orders on the right side of the screen. Only things that are timed are Overdrives and that's just because you can make them more powerful.

Edit: I think you mean XIII.

I'd say a lot easier since you're given unlimited time to think and plan plus for a lot of the game random encounter enemies go down in one hit from the right character.

I read that the Eidolons are overpowered if you focus on leveling Yuna ( auto correct tried to change it to Tuna! ) so I think I'll focus on leveling her. I'm guessing since its old school there will be more grinding than in XIII but I enjoy leveling so I'm okay with that. In XIII I only grinded for about 2 hours over the course of the entire game so I hope its around that.

Yeah, pretty sure if you don't do anything the enemy still attacks.
I think you're thinking of X-2. FFX has unlimited time.

Grinding's a bit different in FFX. You need the right spheres for the right nodes and some spheres only come from some enemies. BUT in the HD releases they added sphere distillers, abilities, and weapons so all you have to worry about is level spheres in the beginning.

Unfortunately this isn't like FFXIII where every char gets experience, they need to do an action even if it's just defending for a turn to get exp. So leveling your whole party gets annoying.

Maybe I'm remember wrong? Most FFs aren't true turn based like SMT/Persona or Atelier. Also, I haven't played X since I bought the HD ver two years ago lol

Yeah when I first played FFX the battle system really hit me for how different it felt and I definitely wasn't ready for getting used to a new style after settling in with how it worked in the XIII trilogy. I'm sure once I'm a few hours in to the game or so I'll be at home with the new system. The sphere grid also kind of caught me off guard because it looks similar to the cystarium but works so much different.
