TN should just stop designing stages since they obviously don't know how to anymore. Instead, they need to just bring back stages from DOA3 and DOA2U, as well as use fan-made stages like the ones in this thread.

There is some seriously great stuff in here.

Too lazy to draw or make some graph/diagram but in my mind right now. Here's what I got.

Tier 1: Fight starts outside a balcony of an old mansion filled with moss, vines, roses, potted plants that you can break and large windows with a 2-door entrance fixed at the center to some bedroom. The bedroom isn't accessible so it will act as a wall but someone inside will be saying: "Who goes there!?" or "Get out of my property!". You can have fun making noise all you want by slamming opponents at the door or go down to Tier 2 after hitting your opponent at the edge of the balcony to fall.

Tier 2: Front entrance of the mansion surrounded by rose bushes, flowerbeds and a long staircase. This area has lamp posts and benches which you break on both sides. Not much to see or do so better throw or push your opponent down to Tier 3 with your attack to the stairs.

Tier 3: Rose garden with a view of the Eiffel Tower outside, Venus de Milo statue on a fountain that you can knock over once your opponent gets slammed to it by a Power Blow, Eliot and Rig in their waiter costumes (when you are not playing as them), more flowerbeds, potted plants, dining tables, tea sets, dessert tables and an old biddies convention shrieking with their fancy hats, lace parasols and poodles barking at the fighters on one side as they arrive down the staircase.

This game was complete crap, but the stages were great, especially this one.
It's a pier/boardwalk stage. They should make a stage very similar to this one, with the boat on the side as a danger zone (knock the opponent into it and they fall to the lower half of the boardwalk)

So I really liked the spotlight affect in the circus stage but hated the actual stage itself (looked cool in the concept art though). So I'd like to see that effect get put to better use and I thought "Where else would you use a spotlight these days?" and it came to me: a play.

Tina wants to be taken a bit more seriously and becomes... a Shakespearean actress. Maybe they start fighting in Juliet's (Romeo and Juliet) bedroom, through the balcony and fall to the courtyard? It's a really elaborate play... =P

At the end of the match, the camera backs out a bit and you see the audience in shadow get up and cheer. Dumb but fun idea. I'd also love to see Bass dress up accordingly. Could you imagine?
