Hayashi's New Studio 'AAA' Could Hold Immense Value

‘AAA Games’ is the name of Hayashi’s new video game development studio and as FSD predicted over a year ago the studio will be used for the creation of video game collaborations with AAA companies such as EA, Nintendo, Sony and Square Enix. The first game under the studio umbrella will be Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, and there is also a new edition of Wild Hearts coming out exclusively to the Nintendo Switch 2.

This announcement should be seen as good news for Team NINJA players as it clears their project table from the possibility of working with Nintendo, Square Enix and other companies that were taking up Team NINJA’s time. Should be considered great news for Omega Force fans as well seeing as how they were getting backed up by Dynasty Warrior-likes for the benefit of other game conglomerates promoting their active franchises while they work for years on inhouse productions.

Nobunaga's Awakening Complete Edition was announced alongside these other games for Nintendo Switch 2, but this is not a AAA Games Studio production. Koei Tecmo has been highly involved with the Nintendo Switch 2 for a while, revealing in interviews that the toy will have mouse support, a first for Nintendo. They have also been vocal about the system specs for the games they are developing for NS2; implying that its limited power could be a problem in the future for blockbuster games.

Hayashi has also stated that he would prefer that the new studio has its own IP to establish an identity and more than likely a mascot to further solidify AAA which would likely be from the new thought-of IP. Not much else was said surrounding this matter, so it could be a creation by Hayashi's own directive or maybe with collaborative efforts with another company. You can expect this news post and discussion to be updated with future projects and new information.

This is a belated April Fool's joke, right? He didn't unironically call the studio AAA Games?

On the other hand, “Since AAA Studio doesn’t yet carry a particular color or brand identity, we can pursue the kind of interesting games we believe in. Then, if the players end up enjoying and embracing those games, the studio may naturally establish its own brand identity. That’s what we’re going for,” Hayashi explains.
Looks like they're going for new IP
