I don't know if you actually played Tekken, but you have a bad example. DOA5 is nothing like Tekken in that regard. SF4 doesn't feel a thing like KOF.
Problem with DOA5 is you got many people trying to play it like tekken and it just doesn't work. It's funny actually. I still don't get the SF4 to KOF bit, though.
On Rig=tekken, i was referencing how he's mostly about juggles, more so than other DOA characters, not to mention his aesthetic (gritty action guy) doesn't really fit, and he reminds me a lot of the Axel looking kicking guy in Tekken.
As for King of Fighters, I was comparing how the newer characters like Rufus, the taekwondo chick, the oil guy...they are so over the top and goofy, they seem like they fit in better with KoF's cast, going alongside the superheroes, hawkmen, kids, and other over the top people. Street Fighter's goofiest characters were like...Dhalsim and blanka. (I don't count SFIII as a Street Fighter game. Too different, different gameplay, different characters). Not "giant high flying fat guy who makes goofy faces", and "purple laser chick", or "cartoon oil rape guy".
