Tri mike, Why cant players learn to properly defend before they get hit? Look at it this way, player on the offense do not have multiple chances to just wail on his opponent, so why should the defensive player.?One hold or proper step, evade, crush etc ends the offensive players "turn". So having a guaranteed setup or unrevoked turn for offense is fair.

Playing like DOA4 .. playing like DOA5 .. seriously I am sick an tired of these terms ...

DOA is played like DOA period ...
plus you're forgetting .. DOA5 changes are not just burst for crying out loud

And what do you define as playing like DoA? Because from my perspective the similarities between DoA1-4 are very minimal. Each iteration played very differently.

When DrDogg says Hayate plays like DoA4 then it means he relies heavily on the stun game, something only DoA4 emphasize to the extreme, something WE DON'T WANT. I'm sick of playing the stun game.

As for the rest of your mumbo jumbo...You are failing to realize that the CB WILL be a useless tool if it needs 4-5 hits to reach. The entire point of the tool is to create fear. I'm not going to fear a tool if I have multiple chances to escape, something only DoA allows. If TN was serious they would not allow you to slow escape sit downs and CB's would work within maximum 2 hits. I seriously don't want to play this "I need to stun 5 times to reach max height" again. I've played that garbage for 6 years.

I'm not saying DoA5 is going to be bad as I have obviously not played any recent builds, but after 6 years of DoA4 I REALLY don't want to see that system again. I still see that heavy stun game in many of the videos I see. DrDogg says he has match videos being posted this week, maybe my opinion will change when I see them, maybe it will change when I play it at GVN (if I manage to go, still working on that but it's looking like I'll be able to go) but as is, I see it wrong that CB needs more than 2-3 hits.

In DOA, apparently it does. Since DOA 1 I believe.
Nothing new.

Nothing at the level of DoA4 where the game was extremely stun heavy.

you got a ton of unholdable situations now (sitdowns, back turns, faints) ... and Hayate has a good chunk of those.

plus he has good launchers and he has stupid juggle potential...
a crazy damage izuna like throw that slams into dangerzones and allows bullshit followup

you are also forgetting he has one of the nastiest and meanest command sidesteps in the game !!

Also, he has his new alterations to his wind dash allowing cancellation of the back dash completely or following it up with forward dash into a number of great options one being a throw as well ...

and add to that all, the icing on the cake ... burst ..

burst is good .. its really good .. but its applications vary from character to the next .. u cant expect characters to play the same ... and some characters just simply dont need to go for the gamble, but when they do .. its high risk for high rewards.. AS IT SHOULD BE.

lets really dumb it down ...(this is not set in stone .. but just giving an example) :
- if you're a slow character .. you can burst early.. but your moves are easy to read. if you're a fast character .. you burst late but you require a bigger mixup in between so it might not be your main aim for damage.

- if you're slow you have limited juggle potential, if you're fast chances are your juggles are a good source of your guaranteed damage and u can keep people floating more

- if you're slow your overall damage output is higher but dealing it is harder. if you're fast your damage output is low but its a bit easier to deal damage.

You can't have Ayane burst like Bayman ... it just doesn't work like that !!

Your thoughts line up with the Japanese DOA players from my understanding. Care to guess what you and them both have in common?

I'll help you out.

1. You guys never played competitive DOA in any of its iterations with serious competition and this limits your understanding of it.

2. You guys talk as though you understand what works and what doesn't in competitive DOA regardless of your lack of experience.

3. As long as you guys clutch onto these false ideas you will never make it anywhere in the game competitively regardless of how good or bad it turns out.

4. As long as Team Ninja takes these flawed ideas to heart, the game will never reach its full potential as a competitive fighter.

Nothing I've said here is wrong, nor is it intended to start a fight. It's not an opinion either. Just laying it bare so you have an idea of why you keep getting wrecked in the months to come and can change your course.

I don't see how anyone can defend an important and vital universal gameplay mechanic like CB being essentially useless to some of the cast. and now news of bayman being nerfed from utilizing it proves TN's pathetic back peddling and slowling degrading this game to doa 4's style. instead they should buff other characters to able to utilize it, but that makes too much since for them to comprehend apparently.

its like creating a cure for cancer that only works on select few people while the rest must suffer and deteriorate in a slow painful agonizing death. CB is that cure and the cancer is DOA4 and needs to be stopped before its too late!

That wasnt an invitation to start throwing insults Raansu. I'm only telling him what he needs to hear. Don't take it any further than that.

That is correct.

Ok so what do you think is going to happen if Helena uses her 9K launcher after a CB¿ From what I understand, that move is actually two kicks with the second being the launcher. Will the first reset the stun and make her lose any launch height¿

Probably just a freudian slip, but does this mean you'll be doing breakdowns for the other characters after the 12 days is over. Or could this mean Brad is going to be one of the upcoming revealed characters? Or am I simply jumping to conclusions? (The last one, no doubt).

And I care because? If he takes it as an insult then that is his problem not mine, but that fact remains that his mindset is wrong and he is asking to leave a good mechanic nerfed because he fears it. It was the same back when you could CB back to back and he had a hissy fit about it. He is AFRAID of this mechanic and is constantly in favor of making it a weaker tool. Whether he realizes it or not he simply wants a bad game. Being blunt is the only way to get a message across.
