I'm glad you both want a terrible game. Enjoy another 6 years of DoA4.

I hear there's this game called VF5FS that probably has everything you want. Perhaps you should make that your main game since this one bothers you so much.

Hey Raansu, have you played the IPL Round 2 Build?

He probably thinks he knows everything about it from just watching a few match streams of it.

The recovery could definitely be increased, but you can't say it's gonna be DOA4 when you haven't actually played it.

Funny thing I've noticed, everyone who has played the game has stated the notice a difference in the hold system, and that it's not anywhere near the level that DOA4 allowed for holding.

But you know, we'll just go by the spectators feedback to the videos of a match or two.

I have been playing that. Shame, if only you guys knew how many guaranteed setups Sarah has that got stuffed in that DoA5 stream due to stupid mechanics.

I don't know why you guys are fighting Raansu for wanting the hold nerfed more. I didn't think you would be against that sort of thing.

That style of play that tina player was using seemed very familiar, I wonder who inspired him.

It's because negativity generally brings more negativity.

I'm not disputing nerfing holds, but that's not the best way to go about it.

It's not that people are against what he's saying, it's just annoying when someone focuses on ONE LITTLE THING, then proceeds to jump to wild conclusions (ie. "This is DOA4 all over again!") without having direct hands-on experience to find a "strategic" way around the "problem", and constantly complains and complains and complains about it over and over and over.

Not every little issue is going to be "fixed" along the development of a game, and that doesn't mean that the game will turn out bad because of it. Because games are made with the interest of appealing to a WIDE audience base (big part being casual players), there will be elements in the game that the "hardcore" audience may not like, but will just have to put up with unless something is RIDICULOUSLY out of control.

That said, it has already been pointed out numerous times by numerous players that DOA5 has SIGNIFICANTLY improved from DOA4. The game is not perfect, but the game is not bad. And it most certainly is not "DOA4 all over again." If someone doesn't like, and can't get over, that certain elements still exist in the system, then that person should just go play a different game. There is no place for incessant whining.

Isn't it too early to jump to conclusions? Sure the holds were used a lot in the tournament , but perhaps there are ways to get around them that many players didn't know about. Just like I heard that there are ways to get around the wake-up kicks several players backed up from them. I think we should wait a while after the game is released to give our full opinions.

ABSOLUTELY.

But that doesn't stop some people from essentially FLIPPIN' OUT the instant they see something they don't like.

"OMG!! You can still mash a hold out of stun and block an attack afterward??!!??"

I'm all for increasing recovery on holds, but if by chance they were to stay the way they are, I wouldn't be too upset as to not purchase the game. From what I can tell, the game plays significantly better than it's predecessor, and I think that a good amount of people were playing the game like it was DOA4 and not taking full advantage of what new tactics DOA5 has to offer. Does 0/12/28 sound good?

It would be nice if there was a modifier for hitting someone in their recovery frames. Something called low counter where it does around 110-115% damage revision.

It's an issue. If you're not supposed to complain about issues then what are you supposed to do? He may not have had hands-on with the game but the people playing weren't exactly terrible DOA players or anything. Did they find any work-arounds? They were basically playing DOA4 from what I could gather.

Not every little issue is going to be "fixed" along the development of a game, and that doesn't mean that the game will turn out bad because of it.
No, the game will turn out bad because the developers are ignoring serious issues that people have been complaining about for a decade and have held the series back from being taken seriously for even longer. There's no excuse.

How would fixing deep-rooted issues in the gameplay exclude casual players? This is what you're implying.

That said, it has already been pointed out numerous times by numerous players that DOA5 has SIGNIFICANTLY improved from DOA4.
While I think the changes that have been made are positive, they're hardly "significant." They're minor changes that people here will pick up on but most won't. What's "significant" is the room for improvement.

And it most certainly is not "DOA4 all over again." If someone doesn't like, and can't get over, that certain elements still exist in the system, then that person should just go play a different game. There is no place for incessant whining.
What a terrible argument. Why can't they just fix these issues so more people would want to play? They are issues after all, not just a personal preference that someone has.

If I piss in my own cheerios... Can I still be angry?
If you know you have some disease or disorder that forces you to do so, then yes.
If not, I would start by seeing your general practitioner to see if you have any of these diseases or disorders.
If you just urinated on your own cheerios for your enjoyment, but now regret it, then no, you shouldn't be angry. You probably will be though.
