Why are there people still comparing Momiji to Mai...? The point was made clear that they don't really have that much in common in retrospect and Mai's game play as it is now supports that.

Insult to injury, TN provided players over here with some game play of Mai and we still have folks somehow comparing Momiji to Mai.
The only similarities here are the fact that they are Japanese, they are ninjas and that they use flames. Practically everything else (game play, origins, move set, general fighting style, personality, gimmicks, normals, roles, reputation, and weapons of choice). I'm kind of surprised that a lot of people don't "really" know much about KOF, Fatal Fury, and especially even Mai herself.
Strangely enough, the differences between Momiji and Mai are ridiculously obvious even with the few game play videos that TN put out.

I've had one too many people keep on commenting on how their faces look the same or they are too similar.
Please... tell me exactly how do Mai and Momiji actually look the same because apparently me nor @GreatDarkHero sure as hell cannot see the similarities.

I wasnt being serious, I just wanted to post that image (which I think could have worked for the crossover costume pack if TN actually was allowed more than 3 characters). Seriously though, I dont use Momiji that much and know nothing about Mai from her home games but can see how very different they each play.
At the very least, Im glad that Mai doesnt have silly special effects when she attacks (unlike
who I really dont like for both her ridiculous looking fighting style and all the flashy effects) and that sells me more to her than even the VF characters.

And for the second part, I honestly don't really care for the effects, I just wanted to see how faithful Mai is to her games just like Naotora is to hers. That's all I care about.

There are a small handful of aesthetic similaries that can warrant a small amount of comparisons (Hell, the series and Kasumi herself had to use inspiration from Mai to varying degrees). But, stating that characters such as Mai and Momiji outright look and even function the same is completely idiotic (and it is already proven why from the footage TN showed us and what anyone knows about the KOF series, and Fatal Fury. The distinctions between these two characters would be considered a lot more obvious.

looks like no new vids for now until release? I'm a bit disappointed at how little an effort TN is putting in trying to promote her. I get that KT and TN probably cant talk too much since a new KOF came out recently but still, outside the initial announcement back in july, no one outside the doa player base really seem to care about her coming release. This crossover would be a great cross promotion if people actually knew about it.
