I'm glad my main won't be an exclusive character anymore, (Spartan). I couldn't use her in wcg and cgs due to Microsoft and bungie license and had to resort to Hitomi as my main in those tournaments. I sure hope Mila plays to my liking and her judo style makes me excited to play her as I was when i played with Spartan.
I'm also considering picking up Genfu since taikou made him so much fun to play with back in the old days.

Well Ein's gone and Helena hasn't come out of the transition from 4 to 5 all that well. I guess I'm just going to wipe the slate clean and try to get a feel for all the characters come release, then I'll pick a main/secondary based on who I do best with at that point.
Tina is looking pretty good though. Never really played with grapplers too heavily in previous games, might give it a try for a change of pace.

Apparently Lisa still has the same problems she did in DOA4, so yeah most likely will be changing her out. Might go to Bass, and definitely try Christie.
Will probably play Lisa for casuals and stuff.

I have to since there's no Ein... So I played around with Kokoro in DOA4 and I took a general liking to her. I think she's a decent substitute for my play with Ein but she doesn't seem to serve my style of play as efficiently so I'm holding out for Mila to see what she's got. I'm also interested in playing around with Eliot and Rig but if none of them turn out, I won't have a problem building a stronger relationship with Kokoro.

Leifang has always been the main of main characters for me, I also use Kasumi and Kokoro as secondary and tertiary mains too.
Tina and Lisa were also characters I often used online and since Sarah is my VF main, I'll definitely be using these three pretty often as well.
I've always dabbled in using Ayane, so I doubt that will change come DOA5. I'll probably give Mila a try as well to see if I like her.
So I kind of juggle characters, and aside from Leifang, I can't really say which characters will be my mainstays until I play the game.

The reason I asked because a "higher" percentage of the time when people have avatars and or signatures dedicated to said characters, it's normally their favorite.
She'll definitely be better than Helena, but that doesn't make her non-garbage. I'm not really worried about her though.
A Tengu versus Tengu mirror match? The world will implode, as no such site has ever been seen. The number of Tengu mains is so low, that no two have ever been in the same match together. Seriously though, I think I've only mirrored Tengu once before. It would be interesting.

Dude, those used to be the matches in DOA2U where you'd have to bust out the popcorn, candy, and pop. It's priceless seeing two Tengus trade those wild body-tossing grabs and slams while the players are dissing eachother over the mics. Yep, rare sight indeed in this day and age...
I think throughout DOA4 I played with Jan and Ein for probably 98% of the total time playing the game.
Since Ein is out its gonna be either Hitomi or Hayate as a substitute. Hitomi for the similarity to Ein or Hayate for the loyalty aspect of it and the fact that I really dislike playing female characters.

For me it has always been Ayane for me. Hayabusa, Leifang and Helena are close seconds. But since Im not really a big competitive guy (love watching it and incorporating some stuff into my own) Ill end up playing everyone Im sure lol
