I knew Rig had a twist to him, I can just tell from that in that trailer with him vs Sarah.

I'm still not convinced that Leon is out of the picture.

Yeah, the more i think about it the more it doesn't make any sense. Why bring back every character BUT Leon. being unimportant to the story can't be it since every character other than the ninjas, helena, bayman,Lisa christie have pointless stories that aren't related to the main DOATEC plot at all. He still has a unique move list and unique style that separated him more from Bayman than previous DOAs so thinking that leon players will be satisfied with bayman and migrate over to him would be stupid. Its like scrapping Ken in SFV and counting on ken players to migrate over to Ryu

i'd hope TN aren't stupid and ignorant enough to base it off popularity or something because its not like there are some huge influx of bayman players in DOA4 and yet hes still in 5. the only legitimate reason i can think of is they want to add DLC content with extra characters and decided at the last minute to include him as one along with EIN.Tengu etc as the DLC choices. theres also a chance that Mila will be an MMA/Grappler character with a similar style to leon and decided having 3 sambo/submision style grapplers was overkill which would be a pretty damn dumb reason in a game that has 3 wrestlers, 4 ninja's, 2 baijiquan users, and 2 taekwondo/kick-style users

What makes Rig so complex? Since he's been revealed, can you give a rundown of how the character works? What sort of playstyle is he intended to have? Does he have any interesting moves that stand out? Anything else interesting about him?

Based on what we've seen in videos, he has a Flamingo Stance. He won't be able to block out of that stance, but he has several moves that cancel into it (we don't yet know if this is voluntarily or not). So he's complex in that he has multiple stances and you have to determine if it's better to cancel into the stance or complete your string. If he's anything like other TKD characters, I expect him to have a good number of attacks from Flamingo.

That sounds like another 3D fighter that I know.

But on a serious note, if Mila ends up being Leon #2, then there won't be many reasons to have Leon back.

I imagine Rikuto and Dr.Dogg might know something, perhaps Manny would know too,But I'm positive they won't be allowed to say a word regarding the matter. So we're just going to have to wait until the next announcements....

I know that Team Ninja has not confirmed Mila is in the game. Or did I miss something?

Thing with Leifang is she's heavily reliant on her defense. And Free Canceling for her is far more important than the majority of the cast because of how limited her variations in her strings are. If they centered her around Sabaki buffs then this can be both good and bad. On one hand she would have attacks that basicly beat others guaranteed. But on the other hand, those same attacks are vulnerable to throw until their active frame so you cant dish them out to punish a throw so in a way that can put her in a bit of trouble.

But I can see how alot stronger shes going to be with the increased recovery to holds in general as it would help her offense by slightly mixing it up with fast and slow moves and delayed strings.

Another thing is that her sit down stun seems to be the second hit of a string, making it far too predictable and almost forcing the leifang player to go for a free cancel (or mix it up with another variation to the string .. if there actually is one). So getting guaranteed damage with her is gonna be a little tough. Especially considering that her :3:K no longer causes sit down.

However, the fact that :3:K doesn't sitdown anymore will make the variations from it alot more viable. :3:K:4:P was a move that just did not work on hit unless the opponent attempted to hold the MID P variation to the string, now it will and will be a valuable follow up (if its still in). Also the followups to it will no longer whiff because there is not sit down stun pushback (especially in the water, and snow if there is a snow stage as rumored)

One thing I hope they fix is giving her a guaranteed follow up after her mid K holds ... That shit was so dumb in DOA4 (one of the many reasons I hated that game).

Did Leifang get any normal hit launchers in the E3 build?
