Still no characters I really wanna use...guess I'll just be using Cassie for that sexy ass alternate costume.

Then again since each character is now three characters, I guess I just need to figure out who's who. If they do bring back Skarlet I'll just pick whatever her "nitara" variation is.

God the variation gimmick is so fucking lame. Just make the damn characters instead of being lazy fucks, NRS...
Why would Skarlet have a Nitara variation?? o_o she has so much potential for unique variations of her own, giving her Nitara's move set would be lazy and random.

Because blood.

Seriously it was a waste to even make Skarlet blood themed in the first place when we already had an actual vampire with blood attacks.

Sides all the characters so far, the variations are derived from other characters not officially playable. Kitana apparently has a jade move set, Kano has a hsu hao move set, etc.

I can see them giving Skarlet a blood draining variation reminiscent of Nitara.
...How is this lazy? Why even play this game if you think it's lazy? Are you forreal right now with this?
For the moment I'm NOT playing because of the laziness. I'm still keeping tabs in case they reveal a character I'm interested in though

You still haven't answered my question on how this 3 variation "gimmick" is lazy. They are literally giving you three different ways to play a character to deal with matchups. You know how much testing and balancing that'll take? You might as well just not play the game then.

NOTHING in this game is lazily done right now, for you to claim it as such is such a blatant disregard for everything they've done so far. Like it's so crazy how you even came to that conclusion.

According to him everything is lazy anyway so they might as well. Nitara is lame as hell.

Its lazy because rather than have 3 different ways to play a character could have been 3 different characters. Kano doesn't need to be a robotics specialist, AND a knife specialist, AND a grappler. Leave him at knives, then leave one of the cyborgs or robots as a cyber specialist, then have someone else devoted to grappling. Same goes for a lot of other variations. Like rather than Kitana gaining Jades moves, we coulda had, yaknow, JADE.

and the reason I want Nitara is because all the characters shown so far are meh. She's one of the few MK characters who stood out.

As is I'm fully expecting just one Lin kuei robot, with a cyrax variation, a sektor variation, and a smoke variation.

Its just an extremely lazy version of the stances from deadly alliance and deception.

The variations are likely being done for accessibility. Switching between stances isn't something that most casual players are going to 'get' so letting people focus on one at a time is actually a good move. Most people that buy MK games, millions of them each iteration, are buying because of the blood and decapitations and whatnot.

Also, Nitara was an incredibly boring character design and play style. She comes from what I feel were the dark years of MK after the last solid 2D game. Very few of the characters from that era should ever be seen again.

I don't think it's lazy. It's giving many ways to play a preferred character that you like & deal with other characters in matches. As a matter of fact, it would help develop a good tier list depending on how the variations pan out for each character (competitive wise)

So with the variation gimmick they're not just artificially crippling the characters right? Because I see that Raiden lost his teleport and Subzero's ice clone is now limited to one style... I haven't read up too much on it but it sounds like BS to me. I want every character to be as powerful as possible

I agree, the variations just seem to limit a characters moveset. If you could switch variations mid fight it would make for some interesting mix ups but being locked into one variation for the full fight is just limiting your options.

Lol like Kenshi or Quan Chi?

I understand the reasoning but still feel it was a massive waste to do that instead of actually using the characters the variations are based off, especially since mk9 was leading up to that. Only now mk10 has essentially thrown everything mk9 did completely out the window.

Nitara has a lot of potential, especially for wing mechanics. Plus like I said she stood out in the roster to me. And then Skarlet was just salt in the wound.

This too. Just dividing up their move sets for no real reason seems retarded.

Its not helping players play in a preferred style at all like that. Better to just have expanded move sets available at all times, rather than just gimping each character into 3 styles with limited movesets.

Man I'm really not feeling either design. Mileena looks like a pink Scoprion there and Cage just looks uncool

But I can't wait to see the Cage vs Cage fatalities lol

Mileena looks so amazing in this game.

Also I wish they would include an open world in a future mortal kombat game like they did with deception. Being able to explore the mortal kombat realms was so awesome in that game.
