I didn't see an MK thread so I thought I'd make one. MK was the franchise that introduced me to fighting games. Every since then, I've been playing it along with other fighting games. I WILL say from MK5-MK8, even though I liked them & played them, they were off compared to all of the others (MK1-MK4, MK9). But I'm a die-hard MK fan just like I am DOA.

The characters (mains) that I use throughout the franchise changed around overtime. I went from Sub-Zero (MK1-MK4), to Scorpion (MK5-MK7) to Kitana (MK8 & 9). I have a variety of characters that I enjoy. As I already mentioned Sub-Zero & Kitana. Then I have Mileena, Jade, Scorpion, Reptile, Noob-Saibot, Ermac, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Rain, & then Smoke. So I'm bound to have a solid character out of the cast as you can tell lol. Though I would like to have Kitana as a main again for the next MK to hit the shelf. How I decide on the main is just I look at who's faster & does hella damage & it happened to be her.. But anyways..

I played 1-Trilogy took a huge break and finally got back into it with MK9. I played MK9 til I got tired with all the excessive fixing.

I love MK9, but I was pissed at how some characters were nerfed. Kitana ended up being my main competitively. Causally I mained Scorpion, Sub-Zero, AND Kitana, but competitively, Kitana was the best character out of the bunch. I also play Mileena (Sub-Main), Jade (which I was very pissed about her after nerf), Liu Kang, & Kung Lao. Reptile & Smoke are also good.

Breakers and terrible balance ruined MK9 for me. Injustice is the real shit.

I mained Sub-Zero casually played a lot. Scorpion, Liu Kang, Ez-mac, Sektor, Kano, Stryker, Noob, Smoke, Kitana, Johnny Cage, with very little Quan Chi, Sindel, and Jax.

I thought at first the Smoke bomb otg getting fixed fucked up Smoke. Once I saw that Tony-T combo vid boy was I wrong 100%+ combos all up in that vid.

I just hope when MK10 drops, it's better balanced. & Kitana or Mileena's in it. I done got attached to them being my mains since all of the others didn't turn out the way I thought they would.

DR2K it's really to early to say if it's well-balanced but the game is dope as fuck though. Right now, I don't see nothing wrong, but again, it's still too early.

I never said Injustice was well balanced, everyone is broken as fuck. Preferable.

One thing I like about Mortal Kombat is that there's not one single female character I'm not compatible with, going by my rules of age preference. 99% of the females throughout the series are ageless (which I make exceptions for), and Sonya Blade - the only human - fits my age range perfectly.

It's also pretty awesome that a 90s vintage pornstar is actually a character in the series... albeit her bust size is nowhere near as big as the actual Sareena Lee's... but it's just a minor nitpick.

Nice, an MK thread Probably the first fighting game i ever played was MK1. Since then ive played MK2, 3, 4, Deception, and MK9. And although MK9 is by far my favorite, i really wish they gave the game more balancing patches/bug fixes. I main Sheeva so nuff said :/ Hopefully MK10 gets more polishing.

I like him, but I'm just not into slower characters. He used to be fast. This is somewhat my issue with Sub-Zero too, even though he's not entirely slow. I felt like from UMK3/MKT, his teleport grab should've ground bounced for a juggle rather than just slam people. I like that some people utilize his tools though.

I've played MK, MK2, UMK3, and MK9. In MK9 I mained Freddy Krueger and Kitana, with some Skarlet on the side. I didn't get to play the game for very long unfortunately, due to the online being unplayable and my offline crowd abandoning the game for unknown reasons after only a few months. I loved the game though and it was the fighter that made me want to start playing with a more competitive mindset.

I'll definitely pick up MK10 whenever that comes out, but for now we have Injustice.

Yeah... I hope the mechanics to MK10 is like MK9... Hope they don't do nothing crazy like go completely away from what made MK what it is today like they did with MK5-MK8,

Speaking of Skarlet, she could really use a Remilia DLC skin. The Touhou character fits in the game perfectly, bloodstained dress and all.

If anything, that would help the game sell well in Japan, lol.

My friends and I had no idea how to play back then so we turned on some option called "Kombos" which basically made it so characters would do a automatic combo by just pressing a button. It was hilarious. I never played MK9 but I like Smoke and Reptile. Smoke I like his hit and run tactics and from reptile i like his dash and projectile. Hopefully in MK 10 they play somewhat similar to their MK9 incarnations.

It wasn't just "her" that took a fall. You can't really seem to get this flowing into people's minds. Even though it's been talked about a lot. You had Mileena who was once one of the top 10 characters of the game. Sub-Zero, Liu Kang, Kitana, & a few others that got nerfed. Kitana is still a high tier character in the game, but she was higher up on the scale before. Just like the others I mentioned. Jade wasn't "the hottest" thing around in MK9 but she was better than what she is now.

I used to just make up my own kombos. The way I'd get used to whipping off bigger 1s was I would mash like Punch Punch Punch & then I thought of ending it with a kick lol... Then after that, I was able to branch them out.
