People are spoiled by the idealistic anime beauties of DOA
MK isnt supposed to be pretty.

This is what bothers me. Like there's nothing that screams anime about MK, but everybody wants all the female characters to be pretty little anime girls. I get that the faces in MK9 were terrible, but they don't exist to appease to these people's gross standards of beauty. It's the artstyle of the game. When it comes down to it, it's just really gross. It's not just this site either.

I just wanna play Mileena. Jade's pretty much for sure dead, so I'm just holding out hope for #1 face eater.

She'll be in the game.

After the "Man Face Syndrome" game that was InjustASS and the fact that many in this thread also play DOA, is it any wonder why they're so worried about the female faces?

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I liked the faces in that game because it fit the style. Raven is the one with the most talked about face, but she's also a fucking half demon. I have no issues with the faces, because what comes down to it is the animation and how that affects the character models. And also because not every single female character has to be pretty or appeal to everyone's westernized standards of beauty (Take the negative reactions to Vivienne from Dragon Age and how people already wanted to mod her into a white woman before we found out you can't even romance her). And if you visit literally anywhere else on the internet when it comes to MK, there will always be conversation about how good or bad they look and never about their actual moves or story relevance in the game.

Also, the "manface" thing is problematic in itself because it's saying ugly women look like men. Meaning "ugly" women aren't real women. That's extremely harmful and nasty and I want no part of it.

Please don't misconstrue what I'm saying.

It carries the connotation that because the female characters in games may have stronger features, it's perfectly fine to dismiss it as "manface" which is just another word for ugly. This causes a lot of harmful transphobic jokes and slurs to be thrown around. I don't want to get off topic so I'm going to stop here.

She was my third favorite after Tanya and Sindel. She will be missed.

What ever happened to Tanya? Like, she was sort of a thing in Deception, but then just went off the radar.
Last time we saw her she was in chains in Shao Kahn's ghetto arena. If they do bring her back I hope we get her MK4 look back, that outfit was great.

In the MKX comics Jax has a niece named Jacqui it would be nice to see her in the game for the sake of female diversity. But I really hope to see Tanya's story expanded on.

For the record I find sheeva gorgeous in a sexy monster girl way, same with mileena.

The others though, in MK9 were downright hideous, because they straight up had Schwarzeneggars facial structure on an otherwise supermodel body.

Its sad when MILEENA is the only ninja I'm okay with not wearing the face mask


No need to all have the most beautiful face ever, but at least look like a WOMAN. Those were just BEYOND butch into, like I said, Schwarzeneggar territory. Mileena and Sheeva had the excuse of actually BEING monster girls.
