In any case the female characters look better because of it.
There is a happy medium between full body armour from head to toe for all female characters and Military combatant Sonya Blade going into battle in an open vest and visible thong.

Well bringing it back to mortal kombat the female characters no longer look like walking blow up dolls who had a meter of fabric to share between themselves. But they also aren't all uncharacteristically covered head to toe in armour so I think NRS did well.
So I seen this in the trailer.

The story takes place over 20 years so maybe this is really early on in the story when Kitana is still under Quan Chi's control?

I don't want to give you false hope, but there was a "leak" a couple of months ago that had Jacqui, Kung Jin, and Takeda listed in it.
Also, Bo Rai Cho, Ron Tan Cho (can't remember if this was how it was spelled), and a character named Salazar (possibly Erron Black) were also listed.
