Ninja Gaiden 4 - Where should the story go?

I know genshin is dead but team ninja shows us in ngre that they still like him a lot. Why do I get the feeling in ng4 he will return but in the end he will join ryu or if not join he will some how get control of the kitetsu. Think about it the archfiend blade is destroyed and the only sword still around that can compete with the dragon sword would be the kitetsu.

I still can't get over how much they 'softened' Ryu's personality. I liked him much better being a man of few words. It was mysterious and, for lack of a better word, cool. But I understand other's may see that as boring.
He's a 21ish(?) year old super ninja (NG series). He has a right to be hard to the core.

Honestly, NG3:RE was my first NG, so I'm up for either more LOA or MIST, more canonical work with the Mugen Tenshin...

I say make Ayane, Kasumi and Hayate all selectable and playable. Ryu should just remain the primary protagonist and overall focus of Ninja Gaiden.

Irene will finally no longer be some useless weak side character who's theres just to keep Ninja occupied by talking. This time we'll get to take on Missions with her. She's the very first female in NG I believe, and it sucks that she keeps getting put on the sidelines. NG was meant to be about Hayabusa, and Irene is apart of his personal life. My Idea is it should take the Resident Evil 6 route, where the game has multiple characters and each character has their own type of role and story that adds to the overall story.

Irene does about as much as the rest of girls flys him places,gives him info,does some fighting,helps Ryu out of tight situation.

I hope they add some physical combat but not like full hand to hand

like a DS combo where ryu slices and dices then he kicks the enemy in the air and teleports to do an izuna drop

edit: co-op singleplayer would be awesome, ryu and hayate controlled by real people, man that would be a blast

At any rate, why not this:

-Mugen Tenshin village attacked by LOA/new evil clan.
-Ryu shows up as backup
-Ryu + Ayane/Hayate/Kasumi (if pre-DOA/AU) gang up, kick ass, foil evil supervillain
-Everybody gets together for a badass cup of tea.

Cue end credits.
Simple plot, easy excuse to include Mugen Tenshin, Ryu doesn't need anything to hold him back. A nice 8-hour game of blood-soaked revenge. Add in whatever people want from the gameplay thread and some kickass cutscenes, and BOOM! Awesome game overall.

Ninja Gaiden's plot needs to include cool, fantastical areas and an excuse for cool, fantastical enemies (fiends).

As long as those are present, it can really do whatever. Doesn't have to be literary gold or anything close to it.

Black Spiders bite off more than they can chew with dealings with the fiends and get overrun.Ryu along with some others has to help them out.bassed on the assets and shear population of them we can assume their home is quite massive and may be an interesting mashup of traditional and technology.this on top of the fiends infesting it could make it a large,expansive,violent,and variable area.and this being a ninja villiage they could add tons of little secret areas you need to use your athletic abilities to get acess to.if this happened I would want for Ryu fight along side an elite Black Spider ninja that doesn't try kill him on first sight(new character).Of course the BS would have issue with Ryu being there so in addition to the fiends he would have to cut through swarms of them as well.mean while a faction sick of being sent on suicide missions takes advantage of the chaos and stages a coup and begrudgingly helps Ryu.this is nescassary because it doesn't make much sense for Ryu to save the villiage only for him to kill everyone in the the villiage himself.

No. Genshin's lame. We already had to kill him 4 times in NG2 and a couple thousand more in RE's trial modes. Just leave the bastard dead.
